I'm sure Pinkpig said something yesterday about getting a top for her birthday??? If it is today Happy Birthday.

(((Hugs))) to Susan, this keeps happening recently, I do wish people would think more before they post sometimes. That's what I was referring to last night. This thread has a tendancy to become a high horse platform for a minority sometimes. As it has been said many times we are all different with different lives and financial situations. We are all good Mummies and Daddies or we wouldn't be on here trying to ask questions and get advice. And it is unfair when some so firmly believe that the only way of doing things is their way, and even the government get things wrong at times with all their leaflets and advice websites. Those of us with older children will tell you that government advice has changed so many times over the years that we listen to it all but then make our own measured intelligent decision.

No doubt like Tia my children will need their tails cutting off when they're older :p because I was too laid back about stuff but wow what happy little kids I have, despite the horns! :rotfl:
Too many children, too little time!!!

  • I suppose one way for the arguments and the problem of feeling ignored is to split the group down the middle based on parenting technique. That isn't very appealing as there as some here who I love very much despite being very, very different to me, but I can't stop thinking that it is the only solution. Perhaps I should start a 'banished' thread for those of us who cause offence and upset.

But why would you do that, it's like saying that the two groups shouldn't mix, but they should. It's just that one side think they're perfect and one side know they're not. And the not side are much more accepting! :( I read the B.Mummies thread with interest, as many of us on here fit quite well with some of the comments but I consider myself a very good Mummy and will confidently tell anyone that! :D

I think the arguments are inevitable, TBH, since we're not perfect and will often word something in a way that causes offence to tired mummies and daddies even when we're not trying to be hurtful. Maybe we could agree to send a PM if we feel hurt saying something like, Hey, I thought that thing you said about purple babies needing to be fed Ribena was a bit upsetting cause my purple baby just gets goat milk and she's fine, and then the response could be, Oh no, I didn't mean to upset you, goat milk is one alternative for purple babies and if it works best for you that's cool, and everyone could go on asking questions without worrying that they're going to start a big fight?

I don't think any of us think we're perfect mummies or daddies. It's now been ten days since Molly had a bath and she just pooped all over her clothes so I put her in a clean sleepsuit rather than day clothes cause I'm taking her out later and don't want her to do it again all over the nice stuff. And she'll only roll over in the nudey buff but doesn't like doing it so I'm not forcing her. And she eats from jars because it's convenient. And I sometimes put her in front of a DVD of Peter Gabriel because she loves him and I want ten minutes' peace.

But I still think I'm a good mummy even when sometimes doing bad things.

We're good, Tara, tired and crabbit after Miss Molly's nocturnal escapades but otherwise ok. I'm off to my meeting now, then another meeting, then a sociable baby-meeting, then to pick up my pants, then home to await a friend's dropping by later on and various little jobs to do in between. It's a busy life but I like it :)
