Gosh this thread is all confusing now.

At the end of the day, boob juice or formula is just food. I imagine most toddlers will go through a fussy stage and not be getting all their vitamins and minerals anyways.

I just let Keira eat a flake for lunch

My cat seems a bit better today, he didn't puke up the food he ate last night and I just got his antibiotics down him in a blob of cream cheese. Cream cheese rules.

Got to go back with that DS today, well I will if I can get ready by half 12!

Feel better soon Jillie you've reminded me, GISI did anyone answer your elective c/s question? it is my experience that any woman who has had a previous section (regardless of reason why) will be 'allowed' to have another c/s but I think it would be up to your consultant that you would only get allocated once pg and booked in with the MWs.
I've already forgotten why you had a section but I think it was because bubba was in distress? if so I think it's a pretty random thing that may or may not happen with baby #2 If you would like any info on VBACs or post c/s support let me know and I'll try to digg out the links from the Rad Mid group x

I must have missed this question! Yes I think you are given the option.

After I had a Em.C/S with DS, I was given the option of a planned C/S with DD1.

My first C/S was only because he was frank breech and got into distress There was no reason it would happen again, it was just one of those things that could happen to anyone. So I decided to try for a VBAC.

When I was pregnant with DD1, the hospital/midwives seemed to care a lot more, and I had several extra tests/scans to make sure she was the right way round etc towards the end.

As it worked out, i'd had an extra scan at 38 weeks, the day before I went into labour, so I felt quite confident that it'd be ok as i'd seen for myself she was head down and ready to go.

Now, trying for the VBAC was the best thing I ever did - the recovery time after the birth was so much quicker.

GISI, I had no problem with requesting an elective c/s with Alex. I was automatically under consultant led care, because i had a previous section. I asked about an elective at all my consultant appintments, was given leaflets to read and was told that i was to make my final decision at the 36 week appointment. Which i did, there was no if, buts or maybes from them, I signed the concent form there and then and they rang maternity straight away and i came away with my appointment to go in for the elective. One week prior to my due date. Even when i went into spontaneous labour 10 days before the given section date, i rang the labour ward, was told to come straight in. Was examined, and given the choice again VBAC or Section. I chose the section. No one tried to put me off, and it was far and away, a much better experience that the emergency section with DS1. Very relaxed and chilled. With Abba on the CD player. When the time comes for it, don't be afraid to ask for the elective if that is what you want.
