I'm not hiding
just catching up before work.
I've been reading that thread too, I'm still interested, but now with
working full time most of my recipe testing will be at a weekend if that's ok? DH tried carrot cake for the 1st time while we were out on Sunday so I may make your version for him
full time plus recipe testing does indeedy sound too much! You are certainly excused! I'll just send you cake in the post...:rotfl:

Dora,
I see you hidin!Have you seen the recipe testing thread, I'd still love all my MSE parent volunteers to join me in recipe testing if you'd still like to!
Weezl I'm hoping to test the onion tart at the weekend. Then I can take the leftovers for lunch Monday
One thing did occur to me - what plans forpacked lunches do you have worked into your plan? I saw the hairy bikers doing a giant sausage roll last night, and DH was talking about doing something similar on a sunday night to take for his lunch in the week. I don't know how expensive sausage meat is or if something like that could be mse-d?
Morning everyone else. (Not replying to susan on here, as she won't see it, in case anyone is wondering!)Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I wondered that too, but pre-eclampsia's not something to mess with and FWIW I'm glad you did the induction and avoided the risk of full eclampsiaGod, i was really upset that my ex wasn't there for the birth but seeing the OH's on this programme it doesn't look like i missed much
(don't anyone tell me how amazing yours were cos i'll cry)
Mine was rubbish. He was bored for the 13 hours it took me to get to 4cm and kept wandering off to do stuff or sitting in the corner doing sudokus, was off eating dinner when it all went pearshaped and I ended up at the bottom of a heap of panicking midwives, was so interested in the C-section that he was talking to the doctor and completely ignoring me, persisted in speaking German to the staff because he claimed it would get us better treatment (it didn't, and it meant that I was marginalised in my own labour), and then told everyone who asked how it went that it was awful, it was 14.5 hours including emCS and they didn't even give him a chair *rolleyes*
But if he'd laughed at me I'd have decked him.Me too! That poor girl shaking through the c/sec reminded me of me having J.
I did that, it's a side effect of one of the meds apparently.
Susan, I'm so sorry you're upset - I thought you phrased it fine and it was a lovely post you made. I hope you come back in a while, I'll miss you xxx
Good thoughts for Tara, DD and Poppie. Lots of them.
Ah, MFD, I've done the same thing. He won't remember and there's this morning for extra mummy cuddles. It's awful when work gets on top of you like that
Happy birthday PP!

Thank you for all your good wishes to Henry last night. He was mega unsettled till we went to bed, but then slept through 10-4, then went back down till 7:30 so not all bad. He's seems jolly enough this morning, so we will see.No, mine was more terrified than me and I was reassuring him it was ok!
I wasn't induced, but my first was in distress.
Me too! That poor girl shaking through the c/sec reminded me of me having J.
Me too. It was so weird seeing the theatre where I had Henry, then the recovery room where I went afterwards. I think it affected me more than I realised as I really struggled to get to sleep last night, even though H was asleep.
I cried a bit for that poor blonde girl- I was in floods in theatre that I wasn't first to hold Henry and didn't get skin to skin. I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't hold him in recovery either. My little boy was awake pretty much from 9-10pm while the programme was on last night- he hasn't been awake at that time since he was a newborn as he's always asleep by 8 normally. I wonder if he knew Mummy needed a cuddle with him last night
?
Ooo this is just like me. Bless DH was trying so hard to be helpful when I was at home, but it was best when he was off in the other room trying to get the kitchen sorted before going to the hospital! All the MWs seemed amazed that I barely made a peep the whole time, but I retreat within and go really quiet when in pain, which I guess is the opposite of most women compared to what I see on birthing shows! Considering I pretty much had an all-natural, practically unassisted (wasn't touch except for 1 VE) birth by accident rather than design, I'm definitely going down that route again except at home this time! :T
Was Supernanny good? GOing to watch tomorrow on 4OD. GISI, have you recognised anyone yet?
Can we go swimming every day? Finn is out cold in his basket with zero fuss!! :rotfl:
tara, I'll be praying for Poppie & DD too.Bless the little ones that have to go through so much so soon.
Yep, I recognise the slightly crazy receptionist, two midwives and my consultant was the dark haired chap in the nurses office, having a cuppa!
Susan- big hugs, I will pm you. I totally echo what Weezl said, and I apologise for not replying last night. I realise I posted after your post, but I hadn't caught up so hadn't seen what you had written.
Weezl- I will also be testing recipes this weekend, as we've been trying to eat things up this week as the freezer is very full at the mo. I seem to batch cook lots, then forget to eat it!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
