Not yet, was looking at the Primary Times mag to see what free stuff is on, my wages have stopped now, eek! DS1 is 16 on Wednesday so we're eating out together, must book something.

Do you know about happy hour at pizza hut? Pizza, side and a drink for £4 each between 2 and 6pm. Depends if it's what you want though :)

Oh dear Krystal...! So no improvement then? :(

I really think this whole "discussion" has more than run its course and 99% of its participants (and we observers) are totally sick of it by now. So why can't we just drop it all and move on to our normal fluffiness?

In other news, I thought babies were supposed to sleep more after the 6 week mark? Garrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Anyone heard from jha lately (weezl?). Hope she's okay! I think we need some newbies on here - I'm tired of having the youngest baby :p

  • You know he won't come until a minute to 12 now you've rushed Tara!

Thanks Aless, I did have a couple of good nights... Although poor hubby lost his Sunday lie in because I was just too tired to get up... Monday night was brilliant, she fed at 11, cried out a bit at 2:30 but it turned out to just be a fart so she settled off until 3:30, fed and then slept until 7 when hubby got up with her so I got another 42mins in bed on my own... It's all ups and downs... I'll be glad when there's more ups!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I can't believe the fallout from that formula thread.

It's a forum - why take things personally? If things are said that upset you then there's probably a reason for that (i.e it bothered you beforehand). An example of that would be Glam, she wanted to bf but couldn't, and although she might be ok with it now, the feelings were resurfaced because of certain comments. Whereas csh obviously never wanted to and couldn't give a monkeys what people think. I hope that makes any kind of sense.

I totally disagree that people should PM someone who has "offended" them. If you use an open forum then you need to realise you WILL read views that you disagree with, but to me that is the whole point of a forum and its why i love them. I visit various forums and have done for years, and have taken part on lots of debates/heated discussions so i do know it can play on your mind, but i think all this apologising and tiptoe'ing around people is what makes it 'fluffy' IMO (not that i ever did think it fluffy, but it's been said).
  • Shall move on after one last summing up? I know breastmilk isn't of great significance in most lives, but it really is the only thing I can do 'right'. It is the only thing I've ever succeeded in, that I can be proud of, the only think that isn't a failure. That is why it is a big deal to me. I've got no problem with formula, formula feeding or anything, no negative feelings, in most cases it is the right and best thing. I'm sorry for projecting my failures on to others, and hurting people.

  • Tara... It's always just a phase :p

Feelie That would be impossible! There are too many different types of parenting, and although, for example, you & I might do some things totally differently, we probably also do some things the same! Plus I love to hear how other people do things so I can steal the good bits. :p

Those of us with older children will tell you that government advice has changed so many times over the years that we listen to it all but then make our own measured intelligent decision.

There were a couple of people on that thread (noone from here btw) who have very strong views on their type of parenting while they're 6ish months into the job of being a Mummy. I'd love to read their posts in 10 years time, with a couple more children to see how much they've changed/relaxed their opitions. :p

Who has ever claimed to be perfect?
We're all perfect parents for our own perfect children. :D
(How very fluffy of me! :o)

I agree with Aless - this has all run its course now.
So, in the words of the legend that is JK, lets draw a line in the sand. :rotfl:(I am so not sitting on my backside watching said JK :o)

Lucky Tesco man. So that's how you get your discounts. :money:

My Baby has gone to MIL's for the day to refuse to eat her dinner and be fed Skips and milky buttons instead. She's so clever already knowing how to work Nanny. ;)

I am listing the next box of baby stuff on ebay. Its the summer stuff in 0-3 months, sorting through it has made me want my little baby back. :(

SS thanks for the advice on easy jet, might have to ring them to see what to do with car seats. .

Jenny, did you find out about the car seats? We fly with Easyjet in April so I need to know the answer too.... although I still haven't got round to sorting out Davids passport application yet . SAMI - how long did it take for Edgars passport to come back?

I'd still love all my MSE parent volunteers to join me in recipe testing if you'd still like to!

You missed me off your list :( but I am still happy to test - is there anything in particular you would like tested?

I suppose one way for the arguments and the problem of feeling ignored is to split the group down the middle based on parenting technique. That isn't very appealing as there as some here who I love very much despite being very, very different to me, but I can't stop thinking that it is the only solution. Perhaps I should start a 'banished' thread for those of us who cause offence and upset.
Please don't feel as if you need to banish yourself Feelie, :(

I have not posted here for a few days because of the general ill feeling that still seems to be around :( I wish I had a magic wand and could make everyone feel happy, unjudged, loved and appreciated

    Happy birthday Pinkpig

    Hugs to Mr sugar
Gentle hugs and well done to pooping Poppie
The one thing children wear out faster than shoes is parents ;):o:D
  • Sorry :o I feel terrible for being so melodramatic when I don't actually have anything to be depressed about, when other people are doing a super job of being brave.

you are being brave for just getting up in the morning and facing each hour whatever it may bring. :T
Oscar has Toby's trend setting leg warmers on today, currently in his jumperoo (best thing I have brought) squealing at everything.:rotfl:

Oscar has his appointment at the children's hospital today, so hoping to get signed off. Feel like they are just checking to make sure I am looking after him. :(.
