oh I forgot to say there was this annoying old woman in the changing rooms at the pool who clearly disapproved of me taking Finn swimming. She asked how old he was and when I told her she acted really shocked and said something like, "oh, I didn't know you could take them in so young! He's so little!" and then kept shooting me tut-tut looks the whole time. Uhhh, that is the point of parent & baby time in the pool?

(not sure how he liked it! good sign is he didn't cry, right? Will deffo buy some sort of wetsuit/swimsuit thing as it was too cold for him, I think. Where can I buy this? eBay? Also, can I 'dunk' him straight away or should wait a while? I'm not paying for lessons so just curious what other baby-swimmers have learned/done.)

    Hi Aless,
I agree with Susan, many people seem to think you can't take baby until they have had all their jabs *insert confused smiley*

This is what we do at swimming, which although is a council run session, it seems to follow the waterbabies lesons that someone posted about the other day.

We start by getting baby to learn a command, we use "babies name, ready, go" and then splash their face with water. We then move onto a cup of water and then a jug before the instructor wil allow baby to be "dunked". The command is the important bit, it let baby knows they are going to be wet/dunked.

Claire, any joy on the less hours? (just txt you about later in the week too ;)).

    MDW, awww she's fab! :D
  • Aw, seems at lot of hugs are needed and a Congratulations to mel.

I'm just plodding along trying to make the most of my last few weeks off work, and avoiding the big debate :/ Tried a baby sensory class today but it was really badly organised, no actual content as such and nothing to catch babies attention. We won't be going back.

And, my pram has broke! I have to take it back to the shop tomorrow, somehow, because Liam can't go in it, and it'll have to go away for repair. Don't knbow how log that takes or what I'll do in the meantime :(
