Morning Weezl (and everyone else too!) That's poo about work
I've ony caught up on the last couple of pages, so just wanted to send huggles to Becles - that is a big decision to make. Is there no possibility of deferring for a year, or going even more part time? Been there, done that though (for different reasons) ... not a good experience to go through, big wrench to change the game plan.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Morning all
I've just got too much to do at the moment and can't fit everything into a day. Last year I bought two new sofa's and I was just thinking that I've barely sat on the things!
Everyday is just a non-stop round of work, uni, childcare and housework and I never get a minute to rest. He won't help with the house work as he works full time, and I can't force him to do anything. It's like being a single parent really.
Just so tired and think uni was a big mistake. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hi all thaanks for the lurve yesterday about my yucky commute- only one day left! :j:j:j it's Monday and I can't wait!
HR have thrown a spanner in the work now though by saying that the letter I received and based all my calculations on about when to begin notice of maternity leave etc isn't right! So they can theoretically require me to all of a sudden have to find 4 more working weeks out of nowhere and fit them in before my Mat leave begins . Going to have to phone my manager today.:(
Oh NO Weezliethat's awful. Does your manager understand your position? How you've based your life around something you received in writing from work, and even if they made errors in their calculations you can't be responsible for that, or change history to make different choices?
I hope she's sympathetic and can work something outfingers crossed
Becles, hope the doctor is helpful today. It really really does sound like you are over-worked, maybe Uni is the easiest thing to change *doubtful smiley* but it must be terribly frustratingstill, if stopping means you have some chances for breaks and feel better in yourself, that's more important. Hope you feel better soon and the doctor can help today.

Hi Weezl, got 2 mins before school run, will be back after 9. Been up since 4.30am, bit stoopid I know. Op went well, she is this morning on air only through the ventilator rather than extra oxygen so great. They halved the morphine overnight but that gave her a build up of fluid on her lungs but they are not concerned about it so it seems that is normal at first. Nasty scar that goes right round her side but glued not stitched. She'll be in Bristol for 4-6wks. XToo many children, too little time!!!0

REALLY? How interesting! Did she invent his illnesses or cause harm, if that's not too personal a question for the internet?
</nerd>And a small thing to amuse you - I was on way home from work and OH asked me to stop by the Sainsburys Local and grab her some sanitary pads. I do not know much about sanitary pad brands and quality. I know OH does not like wings! There were only two sorts on the shelves, so I bought the un-winged....
I brought them home and OH came out a few minutes ago cackling because I have brought home incontinence pads instead it seems :embarasse
It didn't say so on the packet!
:rotfl: I let out a cackle too.Krystaltips wrote: »LOL! Dave loves films too... I tend to talk through them a lot... He gets a bit irked when I do it in the cinema
(He just called from the hospital, he isn't having a heart attack, they gave him hardcore laxatives to treat his diawoowoo (where's the rolleyes when you need it?!?!) and is currently waiting for an ultrasound.)

Very jealous of you two ladies
MM, I'm sorry it didn't go well but at least it went and it's over now? I can't believe you have to get to 4cm to be in labour. It took me 13 hours of induction to get that far and I'd already had my epidural  I blame my situp habit, years of that has got to be bad for the flexibility of my insides or at least their willingness to stretch and ruin all my hard work.
Tara, great news on Poppie, she's doing so well :j I think scarring is minimal when they have surgery so early. I had surgery at <12 hours old (em C-section and doctor sliced half my ear off when opening the uterus) and there is no scar.
:j WELL DONE BENJAMIN!!!!! :j
 at Beenie's neighbours.
How annoying Weezland  Hopefully your manager is understanding.

My thoughts exactly.
So today's all about waiting for the ultrasound and seeing what they say. Off to make a to do list... throwing things out while OH is safely elsewhere :rotfl:

Morning Folks
I was determined to join in more, instead of just reading and lurking, then went back to work and seem to have had NO time to even read much. I think I missed over a weeks worth of reading and the opening of a new thread - this thread moves so quick!
Thanks all for the replies (aaaggggeees ago) about teeth, she has one just poking through now, and it's making her a poor miserable little so and so. She has also taken two or three 'steps' over the last few days and discovered that she can climb the stairs, what happened to my baby that would stay where I left her? She has also taken a liking to kissing our faces, but she's a bit of a snogger and drooler and almost drowned me by dribbling up my nose! Lovely.
It's great to hear what everyones up to, and while not wanting to fuel the debate that's been raging recntly - I think each individual has their own way of parenting, just like we have our own way of cooking or cleaning or whatever - we each do what's best and will realistically work for us and our families.
Also, just wanted to add that I hoping for the best for Poppie, she already sounds like a little fighter!
Love to all

Most other vbulletin forums have that feature, why not this oneSorry I'm not keeping up again.
Not feeling too good at the moment and been tired and tearful a lot. Going to the docs in the morning.
Been giving things a serious amount of thinking, and think I'm going to give up uni. I wanted to give this post its own reply - if you want to, you can go back when the littlies are bigger littlies, but I'm worried at your tiredness and tearfulness - is there any support available for you when things start feeling like they're getting on top of you? Would your OH be able to look after the kids, say, one evening a week so you could keep up with your reading or would that not be enough time or not work? I'm trying to find ways around the situation because deferring or withdrawing is such a hard decision to make.

 If it was their mistake and they told you in writing then surely they can't get away with changing it?
Apparently they can. I rang a legal helpline last night and was told that it's only contractual if the letter is deemed to change the agreement between us, at the level of 'was that what the employer intended to do?' If they say, oh no we weren't making a contract with her, it was an admin error. Then there's no case.
GuttedAlso don't know how to fit in the extra work now before mat leave or arrange for care for Fergie so I can.
