sounds good mm :) ... well deserved before tomorrow x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • MFD is he on the mend? Do you know how much longer he is likely to be in? You probably said already, and I've missed it, sorry!

A couple of nights without DH is sometimes good in some ways - I tend to sleep better without his snoring, and it is nice to have the option of the tv off, but not for too long :(

In all honesty I don't think I appreciated the seriousness of the operation he was having when he went in so I wasn't really prepared for talk of 4 or 5 day epidurals and drains and physio to walk down the corridor :o

I still haven't been able to visit and part of me is very glad because I think I would have gone into meltdown seeing him all hooked up and helpless.

He still has the oxygen tubes up his nose and from all accounts is a very poorly man :(

He had one of his drains taken out this morning (which he said was gross because he had 12 inches of pipe inside him ) and the doc said the other drain would need to be getting less than 30ml per day for him to be let out. Tonight he said the bag had 150ml in it :(

They have taken his epidural out, which is a positive step, but he is in serious amounts of pain, despite the multitude of painkillers he is being given (I had told him to take neurophen in with him like I did when I was having Benjamin :o)

He managed a standing up wee today :T and a walk down the corridor pushing his drip trolley so he is doing well. It is just all a bit of a shock.

My ex had a hernia op when I was with him years ago and he was out next day and, whilst he had to take it easy for a while, he was fine. I kind of expected the same thing here.

In actual fact they have cut through all his stomach muscles (again) and put a heavy duty mesh in place to keep his innards from popping through _pale_ then they have glued him back up - he is not happy - he says he looks like a cornish pasty :rotfl:

Sorry, you probably didn't want detail but typing it out and having a little cry has made me feel a bit better. xx

    Hello all :)

Boo for hubbys' going away - DH was on call all last week and was never back before 11.30pm, usually after I'd gone to bed, so hardly saw him all week and it was really hard work being on my own. He's hoovered the stairs and our bedroom today though cos I was moaning I couldn't get it done.

tara - haven't read back but hope your DD and DGD are doing well, weezl what a lovely thoughtful person you are :kisses3:

I am so hungry, have had a bacon samdwich and a KFC (healthy I know!) all day today. Might have to have some golden syrup porridge in a min!

Caitlyn is in bed and has been for the last half hour, hope it'll last till I've at least had something to eat!

SM and elle are there any plans yet for M'Hall? Haven't read back much sorry.

My tummy is telling me to get in the kitchen pronto!

MFD - sometimes writing it down makes u feel better. I had drains in after my boob ops, I had to carry 2 little bags of gunk around with me for a couple of days! GROSS!!! I think the drains in mine were around 8 inches both sides - if he's having them out that's a good thing :)

Right, I'm getting a bit annoyed and abit too opinionated in my old age so I'm off to get Jack's bottles ready and then go to bed :)

  • Oh MFD, I didn't know it was such a serious one. (I knew he was in hospital, but there is being in hospital and being in hospital if you see what I mean).

Don't worry - sometimes writing things out in words helps loads :) I'm sure he is in good hands. And :T for standing up wees... You will have to put his milestones in red too so we don't miss them ;)

I've been playing battleships on pogo. Last few times I tried I've had really bad luck, but I've got my mojo back tonight and won every game! I'm going to stop while I'm still on a winning streak though, and I'm off to bed. Had a rubbish night sleep last night, and the chance to nap today didn't materialise, so I'm clocking in early. Cross fingers she sleeps through (she does normally now, unless there is something wrong... I just can't always work out what it is to fix it :o) and doesn't wake up too early!
