I am in a hotel room just outside Bristol, DD and her OH have a room at the hospital, which is over-filled with babies and very grotty. And they've had 4 cases of MRSA even though when I asked the nurse she insisted they hadn't, then admitted to one, then two. Silly biatch, I had already been told by another parent they'd had 4 as her little boy was one of them. So I gobbed off loudly in the corridor and the Matron overheard. Yeah, whatever. HOW DARE SHE LIE!!!

  • Can I ask for some advice/ experiences please...

Did anyone put LO in their own room (and in cot as opposed to a moses basket/crib) right from the start?

I was planning on doing this and my mum did this with both me and my sister but as "they" say baby should be in my room for 6 months now I'm wondering what to do

    Thanks in advance!
  • SJ - Mel did. We moved Benjamin at 12 weeks and it was the best thing we could have done at the time, we all began to sleep for longer periods then.

If I had another I would probably do the same, in with us until baby starts to sleep a little longer and my body recovers and then into its own room. xx

Tara - that is awful. How is the treatment (other than the lying of course) xx

maybe a bit late but when i moved erin into her own room and cot i would take my top off and leave it with her so that she would get the smell adn think i was there! it seems to work and when she is ill or unsettled i still do this and it seems to calm her down!

Tara i hope you manage to get some rest too! what does the nurse think she will gain out of lying?? i dont understand it, surely if you know there has been a case people would be more vigilant and make sure they use the handwash etc etc. How is baby and does she have a name yet?

Personal choice Sarah, I didn't but my friend did. Both mine and her LO sleep through now so didn't make a difference, apart from she had to walk further to settle him.

Her oxygen levels are down, no name yet as DD still hasn't managed a proper look at her little face! She wants to decide then. They want her more settled for the operation so hopefully tomorrow. They took all the umbilical away today so they could put load of little tubes into her belly button. And her face is very sore as the ventilator was fixed on too tighly.

    Hello lovelies :)

Karen - in case you read back, you can have a coil removed any time you like it takes like 1 min to remove, not painful in itself but you do get a bit of period like cramping for a few hours to a day after. I had mine for just over a year and if I ever get around to it will be having another which will be removed after about 18mths so we can ttc baby bee mk3  If you want to look at your options try the fpa website it's very good :)

Glam - fook dropping hints! announce to OH and BIL that you will NOT be cooking next friday so either they cook or get a take away
