Choppy - you give me hope!!!!

I was at the end of my tether and was so pleased once I'd done it. I was scared putting her in her own room at such a young age but to be honest, I wish we'd done it sooner now. I am not very good at coping with things on little or no sleep.

We have had the same bedtime routine since she was three weeks old too, although it's evolved a little as she's got older:
    - bath at 6:30pm (alternate nights is hair wash night)
    - out of the bath around 6:45 (give or take, it depends on how tired she is), then into nappy, vest, sleepsuit and sleeping bag.
    - we take her into our room where just the bedside light is on (so soft lighting) where Daddy gives her last bottle of the day.
    - after that, it's kisses from both of us then back into her bedroom and straight into her cot. Sometimes she's asleep already, but we try and put her down awake or semi-awake whenever we can so she is used to putting herself to sleep.

Before she was in her own room, we used to do the same routine, but bring her downstairs for her last bottle and then lay her in the moses basket (not that she'd ever settle).

I think that you've more than made up for a few things having to get thrown away! I also think that BIL of yours should treat you to a takeaway every now and then (or cooks for you, although depending on what kind of cook he is, you might not want that!)

He's beating my Grandad - he'll "only" be 82 this year!! I don't think I've ever eaten trout before either. I'll have to get another one from him this year!

He can cook but hasn't done since OH started working!
I could murder a chinese or Indian but never ever offers! :( I cook 7 days days a week.

OH was funny the other day, moaning that the living room was a mess. I lost my rag and asked him if he realised that whilst Yes it was a mess, I had cleaned the bathroom, downstairs loo and kitchen (including floors) hoovered, polished and done 2 loads of washing all while looking after Jack. He soon shut up - seems they don't notice when everything is tidy but not when it's a mess!

    Oh my blog!!

Keira fell asleep on the sofa, ontop of the DS, she peed herself and wet the DS. So it doesn't turn on now. I've taken all the bits out to dry, if it doesn't work tomorrow you think I could take it back with that 2 year extended warrenty thing they made me buy before and just say "HEY IT DOESNT POWER ON" ....GIMMIE MY NEW ONE NOW PLZ

Worth a try ;) Might be OK when It's dry - I dropped my phone down the loo not long ago (was BEFORE I went :rotfl:) and it wouldn't work until it dried out properly. Works fine now :)

Glam - you putting Jack in his cot/own room tonight? We starting with C on Sunday night (cos OH on lates next week and doesn't have to get up early - he up early at weekends for golf).

Anyone any tips for movin LO to own room? I'm dreading it. She moves right to the edge of her crib and sticks her arm through the bars to be near me at the mo (when she not in bed with me) and just thinking of her being alone makes me want to cry. Gonna give her the same bedding/sleeping bag and teddy. Any other helpful tips?

    Thanks

Oh NMS - we went swimming today. C loved it but had had enough after 45 mins so we got out. She was asleep before we got to the car in my arms - it's unheard of!!!

    Hugs to all xxx

Will be tomorrow - cot doesn't fit through the door so has to be dismantled and is a 2 man (woman ;)) job.

J does the arm thing too but out the side away from me! :o

I just plan to follow our normal routine but rather than feed on my bed, feed him in the rocking chair in his room. I might stay in there with him for abit if he's unsettled.
Just need to work out where to put the monitor as he likes to fall asleep facing it to watch the light but his cot and the powerpoint might not allow.

Just going to nip to do his bottles for tomorrow then I'll be back!

Where does the time go?

NMS - Monday should be good. Will have to do our 'homework' in the bath on Sunday lol. She didn't like the changing rooms though - screamed the place down before and after she was wet lol

Will try to get there early cos they turned people away again today - oh, did I say yes it was ducklings? lol

    xxx

Choppy - you give me hope!!!!

I do homework on a Sunday too, I don't bath Liam that often and thentry to fit it in before the lesson :rotfl: Liam usually cries throughout getting changes after, cos he's tired and hates the fuss.

ETA: Just to warn you it's OAP swimming at the same time as Ducklings on Monday, so prepare your eyes!

Hi SM  Just watching Lost but I'm confuzzled :o

MDW - no, we were there really early so the rooms were virtually empty. Can babies be claustrophobic (sp)? It was just in the cubicle she screamed. Luckily I was chicken and had taken Mum with me just in case but might try the family change on Monday (cos it'll just be me and NMS will have to pretend not to know me :-)) and see if that is better. Was it from Argos?

The boy's have DS's with cover on. James dropped his getting out of the car and one of the screens broke. I took it back to Argos and just said the screen had broke, filled in my personal details on a form and they gave us a new one. They didn't even ask how it got broken and were more bothered because they no longer sell silver ones, so he had to have a blue one instead!
Here I go again on my own....

Glam - when you say he's a bit unsettled, C screams as soon as I put her down if shes awake. I sit with her and she usually drops off after 5-15 mins screaming but sometimes it can be half an hour. I hate it but as soon as I pick her up, she stops then starts again the second she is an inch from the mattress. It can only be for attention and I just hope she learns it's ok to go to sleep by herself, even if I have to sit there while she does it for the time being. Have I just got a clingy one (prob my 'fault' :-))

Must go to proper reply so I get smilies!

AF, he did have three cubes of mashed potato with double cream, cheese and butter added in ;) Normally, he had all homemade mashed veggies (some have cream in too) with some chicken or beef, but I bought those to try him on new flavours before I spent time/money/effort buying and making from scratch - plus it's Friday so he's allowed a "ready meal" ;) (we had chippy tea). I've got to make up some more veggies this weekend so going to get some more meat and white fish and make up something different. Will be the first time I've made a mix of mush then frozen it - always been a selection of mush cubes of one flavour each, iyswim :)

    ETA again:
Caz, I'd be sat feeding him in A&E and let them see him in action and clean up after him if it were me.. *hugs* for you and your sis xx

i used to 'buy in' too when it was new flavours that we were trying. then when LO got sick and went off food, i was making things from scratch and she was turning her nose up. tried buying in again, and she did the same (confused smiley)

had a bit of success tonight though. i cut up a bit of a banana into little cubes and fed them to her as she was moving around from toy to toy. she ate all that i had cut up. i then made her half a slice of bed with some philly cream cheese, cut that up and feed her and she ate nearly all of that.

she's normally only happy if she can feed herself but she doesn't like being in the highchair so things can get messy.

    a middle ground perhaps.

any techie people???...why when i click on the smileys to the right of the screen do they not transfer into my posts??

Charlotte has been in a mad mood today. You know that ad that comes on with a dance/rave type tune for We Buy Any Car? She was yelling that on the field but with different words - "we buy any Bob dot com" "we buy any Jack dot com" "we buy any trees dot com" "we buy any puddles dot com" and so on :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl:

    I love Charlotte!!

Grr at OH - MIL just rang to say she had booked J's brithday off so they could come up for the weekend! I was like !!!!!!????!!! They haven't even asked so OH told her what I said! Said he's fed up of being piggy in the middle!!!:mad::mad:

Oh poor you. Did you not use the opportunity to tell him about my hubbys swoon-worthy behaviour the other day? I always do that! If one of your hubby's has done something lovely or has been a pig I tell hubby along with either lots of gushing about how nice that is or lots of tutting and saying I am glad he isn't like that ;) Always worth trying to get the right messages across!!

Watched one episode of Lost, loved it but v confuzzled so don't want to watch the next one til I have rewatched the first!! But now I can't turn it off because hubby has set 2 things to tape *rolleyes*

Report from hubby is that his epidural is going to be in until Monday. Which means he will probably be coming home on Tuesday all being well. Typically I have a meeting in Warrington on Tuesday that I can't cancel so will have to arrange for somebody else to pick him up. He also text before to say that they have bizarrely shaved the top of his left leg :D
