Eeep, just left a messsge for my local La Leche League Leader, seems I know fit all the requirements for being a leader, so shall see what comes of it! I was reading my old LLL Book, and noticed it had a 'Your Local LLL Leaders' sticker in the front, and a big shiny gold one had my Mum's name on it!
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

Feelie, what does being LLLL involve? is it 'just' a supportive type role? x

Am watching Maury on tv now (daytime tv!) and they're talking about a 4 year old who weighs 120lbs (as opposed to 39lbs average weight) and her daily diet is this:
 That's heavier than me when I was 18.

    Hi all,

    UTIs!
Do they often go away by themselves? When would you decide it wasn't going away by itself and go to a doctor?
Is there anything available over-the-counter which is relevant?

Unclear and vague questions I know!

Welcome back Krystal, now I can stop stalking you on Facebook maybe :D

    hi bruno,

not that experienced in UTIs (touch wood), but i know there are many over the counter medicines, although family members swear by cranberry juice to help.

never had you down as a stalker bruno :D
  • Bruno, they can last from a few days to several weeks. Should see a doc esp if it stings !!

I used to drink canberry juice which is good for it though :)

When Aimee has a UTI I throw water down her neck by the pint and have previously tried to get her to drink cranberry but she thinks it's nasty... She does generally end up antibiotics eventually though... (if it's a stinging pee one then anti-b's straight away... Otherwise, it's when she looks all sunken eyed and miserable / has a fever that we suspect there are nasties in the water...)

Please don't stop stalking me... It makes me feel special ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
