Well done Jayden!Tigsteroonie wrote: »Tia, that's the first time I've heard about any limit on the time spent expressing while baby is on SCBU. They never cared about (or even took interest in) the expressing side of our equation, only the feeding side. As for 3- vs.4-hourly feeding, yes they put Andrew to a 4-hourly schedule before we left. It's a good question as to why?and one that I shall ask at the Parents Forum.
As for the original issue of a "Feeding group" as opposed to a "BF group", well at least it would be more accessible to people like me! I need to consider similar health issues to the BF mums (blocked ducts, mastitis, my own health) but then I also have issues similar to FF mums (bottles, teats, routine).
Tigs, thats the thing, with the boys it was a case of express till the breast is empty every 3-4 hours after you visit baby, do what you feel you want to do etc. Then with Amber it was 3 days of hand exppressing where a mw sat with a sodding syringe to catch the tiny drips of colostrum/milk. I can't describe how humiliating that was for me. I hated it, it still makes me cringe now. Then no more than 10mins with the pump at half power, which just wasn't enough. So I ended up with mastitis, which was nice.Chav;):grouphug:
I think you're an awesome mummy although if it turns out you have a chav spoon I might deny ever having said it.
I, like, totally have 3 sos that when one is needing washed I can use the other one and the third on eis only for going out cos it's got the nike logo on it know what ah mean? And I also take her to mc donalds and chew up some !!!!!! for her, ken? cos she cannea chew it on her own and she's big enough for a kids meal now.0 -
Oh I forgot to tell you all about when we all suddenly decided to visit searching. Sami was there and Weezl and MFD (dressed in victorian costume of course) and a fe wothers but I can't remember exactly who...
Anyway, searching reacted wonderfully, and made us all mince and tatties. She has a Jesus like ability to produce mince and HUGE boiled tatties from one small pot, enough to feed about 15 of us! I was very impressed and the tatties were cooked to perfection
(yes, I did realise it was just a dream, unlike when I dragged DH to the 3 shop on Sunday because they had a special offer on the iphone and you were getting the phone for £99 with a £20 per month contract)0 -
tia ... you were dreaming about me??? ... i feel honoured
.. although last night i dreamt about cockroaches being everywhere and they were HUGE!!!!! x
Still searching .....:)

Are you going to find out the flavour at your scan, Mel?Oh I forgot to tell you all about when we all suddenly decided to visit searching. Sami was there and Weezl and MFD (dressed in victorian costume of course) and a fe wothers but I can't remember exactly who...

You is a little bit crazy Tia!:p
Mmmmm, I went to Asda and got myself a creme egg easter egg 'cos I am home alone (again) tonight. I also decided to make fajitas for tea, even though it's just me. I have a sudden need for guacamole.
Basingstoke ladies (and Daves)- where shall we meet on Fri and does 12:30 suit folks? Please don't make me decide on a venue as I am rubbish as making decisions!!! I would pm but it drives me mad that you can only send to one person at a time!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Very impressive:) how did you do it, if you don't mind me asking? Just out of interest how tall are you?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
I knew I'd forgotten something earlier, my asda have started reducing the baby event items. Stairgates were £10, Johnsons box was £7.50, most of the £1 items were 50p & 75p. Playmat was £10 but I couldn't find any boxes of wipes in my local so they must have already sold out. Might be worth checking your branches if there's anything you fancied.
SM - well done on the weight loss. You've done really well.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
Boo- I looked in my local Asda today and there were no reductions, although they were taking the Baby Event displays down.
I meant to share this link http://s83634429.einsundeinsshop.de/sess/utn;jsessionid=154b69a69529d18/shopdata/index.shopscript?main_url=http%3A%2F%2Fs83634429.einsundeinsshop.de%2Fsess%2Futn154b681dbfbd4c3%2Fshopdata%2F0220_Kinderm%3DF6bel%2Fproduct_overview.shopscript. Not sure if anyone is looking for a bedside cot for co-sleeping, one of the ladies at my NCT tea group recommended this site- they deliver to the UK for 20 euros and the cots are so cute!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
