Didn't you answer your question in your post, Hammy? :) It's popular for lots of reasons but one of them is it lets people see a variety of pics of distant friends and their families/babies :p

But the rest of it he is doing good for a child who wasn't going to walk :D
:T The orthoptist told my mum it wasn't worth making sure he could see out of both eyes because he would never make anything of himself but career wise he's done better than I have.

Did anyone else experience stockpiling food/staples as part of the nesting instinct? DH pointed out that we have 10 unopened bottles of value conditioner :o
 Is that not normal? Toiletry wise we currently have about 12 deodorants, 30 toothbrushes, 40 toothpastes, 36 toilet rolls and ten bars of soap/bottles of bodywash. We don't have loads of shampoo because I usually make it and I've got prescription stuff at the moment.

Alice chewed holes in two of her board books today. She didn't do it when she was smaller so I don't know why she's started now. *confused smiley*

While we are on the subject of nurseries.... I am right in thinking that nursery paid for by govt is for over 3's isnt it? One of OH's friends came round on Sat and said that their LO gets nursery paid for after 2?
I remember hearing something about them extending it to age 2. Perhaps they are doing a pilot in some areas?

not quite. once they hit 3 they get 12.5 hrs free per week over 38 weeks.

this is going up to 15 hrs this year

if you use a school one its all free but if you pay for nursery your fees are reduced

Maz, Claire mentioned that the other day. I've got the same leaflet Claire mentioned here beside me and is says "It's also worth knowing that all local authorities offer FREE childcare places for some two year olds.. So to get some advice and find out more about what's in your area, just get on touch." then gives 0800 2 346 346 and www.direct.gov.uk/childcare for info :) Maybe it's two year olds from families with low incomes, or on certain benefits *confused*
