Sorry, em, I haven't been keeping up. Sounds like she was just being an !!!! then.
Jillie, nothing I didn't expect.
Not sure if nurseries have to be registered, better idea if the one you pick is though.
Amber had another dinner, that's 3 in a row!
I'm for an omlette for my dinner and then make some chocolate criispy cakes with sultana bran (cos then they are healthy see)0 -

Weezl, yeah you may as well. I was left waiting hours a few times and then they said I could wait till next pill round. Just let them know if you have taken your own just in case there is an emergency.0

was checking cos 3 nurseries we're (ie me) are looking at say they're not registered with ofsted on the directgov website, but when i've checked ofsted, they are there. phew!!
the one nearest to us at ofsted visit last august. and imo is a good report. although i know that in practice when i visit i may not be so convinced. the children were role-playing being a travel agent when ofsted visited!! that made me
just checking the others now.
a new childminder has also come on the register, still a walk away from us but only thing concerning me is she only got registered in Dec.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
darn it, the others havent had a visit since 2007.
and one of them was on a tv programme a few years ago as it was meant to be really bad. but i'm sure since then will be a lot better otherwise they wouldnt be open i guess.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Hi all
Quick but heartfelt commiserations to those of you with doctor, nurse and CM troubles! They sound very stressfuland Tia, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be constantly seeking help and advice from them, at least it sounds like today you had some solid progress.
Bruno I saw this and thought of you http://www.momlogic.com/2009/03/toddler_blog.php
Thanks ;p fairly amusing, some entries anyway!Sometimes he cooks a meal and occasionally washes up. He's got a full time job so he can't help out with anything else.
Honestly, it's like a red rag to a bull
I know you don't feel it's equitable either Becles (and Glam!) but it just makes me want to explode even over the internet! I can't imagine (or rather, I can) my response to someone close to me presenting that attitude. I have rage. Maybe partly because I can't help feeling that if it was an acceptable attitude to take I would have a very easy life (and I do work full-time, 45-50 hours plus commute, usually - but if all the other hours in the week I just did what I felt like rather than things for my family, house, OH and baby, ... it would be seriously shameful).
Bottom line is that I feel sitting down with your feet up (or playing your favourite computer game, or lifting weights, or watching Top Gear etc) while 'the love of your life' slaves away at tasks to benefit you, bring you food, clean your dirty socks, care for your baby, is somewhere between Victorian Dad and Wealthy Slave-Owner. I'm not ranting at any of you and I guess this is a sensitive topic for me so I apologise if anyone is offended. Usually I re-read drafts of posts like this and moderate my language downwards. But, gah.0 -

While we are on the subject of nurseries.... I am right in thinking that nursery paid for by govt is for over 3's isnt it? One of OH's friends came round on Sat and said that their LO gets nursery paid for after 2?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0
