Good luck to those discussing work. It is tough ((HUGS)).

Jillie - I cried every time I called a CM :o even doing something positive was emotionally exhausting (god you lot must think I am a jibbering wreck most of the time!)

I use the nelsons teething powders and they say every 3 hours I think.

I find there is no point giving Benjamin one before he goes to sleep but they settle him if he is grizzling in the night. I guess every baby is different.

It is Ashton & Parsons I have and it says morning and night for babies over 4 months. Might have a look at the Nelsons ones when I am out then thanks. No idea if it's teething related mind you. Cheers!

Fitzio/Glam - I had been having the same problem with Liam since around Christmas time until last week! Sometime he would wake every hour, other nights just a couple times. Some nights he would settle after a couple of mins crying (I mean long enough for me to wake and register it's Liam crying over the monitor and wake up) and some night he would cry himself awake.

My 1st thought was a 4th month growth spurt, then tummy bug, then I though he was waking for his dummy so weaned him off, then we had a cold then we got teeth. It seemed to settle a couple of nights after his 2nd tooth cut. I don't know what was causing it, if it was any of those things, it could have been teething all along, but whatever it seems to have been just a phase.

For the past week he has gone down like a dream and slept through till, just waking quite early (6:30 ish) he was bad last night, but it was the first day he had spent away from us and I think he just wanting re-assuring we weere still there.

I often read Glam's posts and think Jack seem to be mirroring Liam, just 6 weeks behind, lol Despite all my questionings I don't really know why he was waking, I can only guess :)

Fly-by hugs for heroic bleeding Rhys, for heroic early-rising Elle, for heroic positive-mental-attitude-MFD (I meant to send those ones days ago but got distracted :( ), and for heroic superwoman-in-the-face-of-adversity-and-apathy-Becles!
  • SM & Jillie - good luck with your work meets.

Nikkit - ironing, with a newborn. I still can't find time to do it now. at least it will keep you warm :D

cheers jillie i hope so too ..

my lasanga has no veggies in it as otherwise zoes wont eat it (she has toms and cucumber when i serve it) i use passta (sp?) and throw in a tin of beans (not all the time but its zoes fav like that) .. any longer is messing around for me .. brown mince, add herbs and spices, add passta (sp) and beans (if zoes have some its baked beans if its just adults kidney), layer it up ... top with HM white sauce and cheese ... my lasanga .. DONE! :rotfl: ... quick but very tasty :D x

Don't you cook it in the oven? (confused.com in chez Glam :))
    Hi ladies,

I haven't been on for ages as lots going on at home. My parents have been here for the past week and we've been out every day, it's been lovely seeing Isla going from being a little unsure at the start of the week when she saw them to loving her nana cuddles and huge smiles yesterday.

It's made me realise just how big my babies getting already and that I can't bury my head in the sand and pretend going back to work will never happen, it'll be here far too soon. :(

I see gentle hugs are needed for poorly babies and mummies x x

Hello!!! Missed you, can you make the Trafford Centre next week? We are meeting on Tuesday :)

Fitzio - Jack is exactly like that! Fast asleep but screaming.
HV said the best thing I have been doing is leaving him in his cot but calming him down so he doesn't get used to cuddles. Sometimes he gets hysterical but I can calm him down by popping his dummy in and rubbing his back or patting his bum and jigging his whole body up and down.
Have to keep a diary for a week of times he wakes and how long for - she said it could be teeth and that if he was particularly upset I could try Calpol to see if that works (if it does then he must be in pain) but I have tried that before. She advised me to restart the Gaviscon (oops just fed him and forgot!) and see if that helps. My plan is to try raising his mattress for a night or 2 in case it is reflux but don't know if that would help with him sleeping on his front.
Going to try the Nelson's teething powders as the A&P aren't helping (if it is teeth).

It's all blimming trial and error this baby lark!

As he had a bottle at 7am, he's just had one now so I might see if I can 5 bottles into him today and see if that helps!

(not that I'm clutching at straws or anything)

Managed to get the new car out the drive :j but now it's on the front drive I keep thinking Royal Mail Van is outside :o

Congrats Nikkit! Was keeping up with you on the Pg thread! (off to send some labour vibes to kindof and EA!)

Cue no sleep and lots of waking for a week now!! It always happens to me. I keep my big gob shut these days :rotfl:

The nelsons powders are more expensive than A&P but A&P don't seem to touch the sides her (and I felt like I was giving my baby drugs with those dodgy little wrap-thingies!!!)

Heya ladies, am not quite ready to join you yet (soon tho all going well), but found this offer for a free photo book every month and thought some of you might like it. They'd make cute pressies and keepsakes, I plan on doing one once baby girl is here :D The freebie ones have adds in them but there printed on seperate pages which are removable. Some lovely designs too :D
