E has developed two new habits in unnerving complement - when having his nappy changed he is VERY RARELY willing to lie on his back; he had a phase 6 months ago where this was true but he could be distracted by toys and singing, now he just fights with gritted teeth and grim determination to escape having his bottom wiped :(
While at the same time, out of nowhere, he has started walking into open floor space, and carefully lying down to lie on his back and stare at the ceiling - pointing at the lights and saying... "Light. Light! Light.".
    Gah! *eyerolling smiley*
Is the place where he likes to lie down a suitable location for nappy changing? Or if not, can you simulate the attractive bit in a more suitable location?

Yes, this is kind of what we're thinking - however so far at least, he seems unwilling to do the lying down at all when he has a dirty nappy. It may be the first signs of him really being aware of his evacuation activities I guess! Silly baby.

How do you manage that? We run ours 9-10 times per week.

We have about 2cm of snow so Alice is requesting we build a snowman with her. Fortunately her standards aren't too high - any heap of snow counts as a "snowman".

    Aw, cute!

We don't seem to create many dishes...Gaz has breakfast at work so no mess from him, I use the same mug/glass all day with just a rinse between drinks, L doesn't create much mess, I dont put in pans and oven trays - I wash thes =e by hand after I've done the bottles, so there is only really tea time plates etc. I forgot to add it is only a slimline one too!

fair enough but playing devils advocate, when did you last meet someone allergic to sweet potato/carrott/insert random veg here;)

Have to agree. It's only been diary and eggs I have [STRIKE]avoided[/STRIKE] been careful with, and only because they aggrevate my Eczema, and it seems to be the case for Liam too!

Becles - you're lovely :D I have a feeling Chris would be similar given his current love of flashing and the example Daddy sets lol

eep! Edgar just ripped a chuck of Chris's hair out  he's such a good big brother though he just took it on the chin because he knew he didn't mean it :A

Aw, well done Chris! Thats a lovely, grown up reaction :)

Bruno have you tried changing him on our knee? you can get a better grip on the wriggler if you put him over your knee like you were going to smack his botty.

Does anyone know where dance schools are likely to advertise? might I find them on mumsnet local?

Bruno, becles and SB have in the past suggested stickers on the back of hand and a favourite toy only for nappy time, as possible distractors? Sure you've thought of that already....

NMS - have you tried goats milk? we're trying it at the moment for Chris's eczema it's been about 2 weeks and it's almost disappeared with out us using any creams :T warning though Delamere goats yoghurt tastes of goat/farm yard _pale_

  • Tia - link as requested - I like the idea as I felt quite detached for a while after DD was born - being pg was unreal enough for me and not seeing DD come out made it feel all the more alien IYKWIM.

Having read your link, although I didn't know it, I had a natural caesarian with El, it was a really positive experience and as I posted the other day it helped exorcise the unresolved feelings I had about my EMCS with Millie.
