brilliant....thats the one i've decided to put K on as the next stage for 'comfort food' is only £6 in asda. wonder when exactly its happening. maybe i need to look at another ro just leave it as aptamil....
only bought some this morning as well. better check and see which is the next cheapest and try with that rather than get him used to the heinz one and thenhave to change again.

went to another nursery and it was fab. big huge rooms. plenty of space for playing. fantastic messy play areas. K stayed in the baby room when ilooked around and he loved it. we stayed for storytime as we was so content. think we're going for this one. just need DH to have a look (prob leave it to me, but need him to say yes or no). only 4 babies at the moment and 1of them only there 1 day a week. and they can be flexible enough if i need to put him in an extra day as well. just need to have a read through the details but i'm 99% sure this is the one!! so relieved....

Been trying to post for about 2 hours since returned from docs. Really sorry to hear about your friend. Really awful news, particularly when it's someone so young with a young family. x

    Thanks x
Nothing serious at the docs I hope?

    No Beenie today?

Hooray!!! Holly has settled for a nap at last. Went for smear test at 12.30 but H needed fed. Held off as long as possible, but we were still sitting at 12.45 so I finally gave in and gave her a bottle (who knew how much longer we would be) as couldn’t distract her any longer. Of course as soon as I started, the nurse appeared! H had just about enough to appease her for 10 mins, then I had to finish the feed in the waiting room afterwards as she had become restless again.
She then dirtied her nappy so I thought I would just change it at home as only 2 mins down the road. She fell asleep, but I had to wake her when we got in to change her nappy and she has been really tired and girny ever since! The only thing to stop her crying/moaning is to sing “1-2-3-4-5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive” repeatedly. So this has gone on for nearly 2 hours and now she has finally given in and gone to sleep.
I think it’s teething that’s upsetting her. Some days are worse than others and it seems to coincide with a slightly red bottom and red cheeks.

Well, since she is sleeping, I think I will watch OBEM since I am the only person who doesn’t seem to have watched it!

oh dear, hasn't been a very good few hours has it. i seem to get stuck on thinking of songs to sing and stick to the same few that all blend into one and other.

as for OBEM... i haven't watched it and can't bring myself too. i would watch all these types of shows when i was pregnant (well up until the last month or so) but since going through it myself, i can't watch it. not sure why, whether it's becuase i'm not sure i'll have another or because i am so emotional over the one i had (strange?? me??? noooo??) :D

Good news about your nursery Jillie. When do you go back to work?

I hope Beenie is ok too.

Has anyone ever had/heard of Polyps? Nurse said I had one and should make appointment to get it checked by doc and have it removed. I had never heard of it before! Better go and phone docs actuallly whilst I remember.

susan, do you have any interesting links to sites about delayed cord cutting and effects it has on a baby breathing? I'd be very interested.

ETA, I've found this one, a clinical trial. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01029496

(I'm interested as both a mum of non breathing infants and as a would be healthcare science type)

Not the only one, I haven't seen any of them. Was on at the same time as Survivors, so have missed them.

definitely. tbh thats why i started looking at CM's as the 1st nursery was fantastic and the next one(yesterday) was awful. the young woman who showed me around didnt even mention how they monitor what the children are doing or obs that they do etc. i was in there for 10 mins!!! just didnt get the 'vibes' at all. the 1st nursery i visited i was there 35 mins and today was there 50 mins in total.

cant remember who it was when they were looking for CM said that 1 lady never even tried to hold LO and the one they chose was staright to buggy to hold him/her. so that kinda stuck in my mind as i think when they never offered yesterday to look after K while i was shown around immediately made me think no. if that makes sense.

shucks about the milk. reading the piece its not like its happening next week. there will have to be a consultaion phase with staff which usually is over about 3 months so i think i might just stick with it as by the time you can no longer get it K will prob be on proper milk. i can just buy extra tin or so each month to do us.
