Thankyou hun, but I'm liking that little one (only 80cm square) cos it's easy to fold down and not need to deflate (and reinflate - I'd run out of puff!).
Are you feeling any better today?Anything sorted with DH's working hours?

Henry has this one, theres a strap thing so you can attach the steering wheel to say the car seat straps, thats what we did until he got over that temptation...

Afternoon all.
We have had fun playing at tourists with Feelie and Toby. We went to the Cathedral and a museum. We also had cake and cheesy chips. And saw some massive dogs.
I'm now defrosting the freezer which is far less interesting!
Sounds like I'm going to an ann summers night tomorrow night. I had said I might go, but DH is now making plans around me going, which means if I don't go I'm going to feel mean stopping him doing what he would have done otherwise. It should be fun anyway ... I bed Ann Summers don't sell nursing bras thoughIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

To rephrase, one baby who required resus, DS1. DS2's placenta was already fully detached when they opened me up and Amber wailed before her cord was cut (I could see it dangling down when she was lifted up for me to see).
If the placenta is detached already then (as with cord prolapse) that lifeline has already been severed and the baby needs to be born and breathing ASAP (which is why cord prolapse is an emergency CS if birth is not imminent). In this case cord clamping/cutting is probably pretty irrelevent since the cord/placenta are no longer functioning normally anyway.
Once the baby has already started breathing then cord clamping/cutting is not going to cut off their oxygen supply so it is just a case of slightly reduced blood volume if cord clamping/cutting is not delayed.
I've looked in my bookmarks and I have two articles about cord clamping which may be of interest.
http://onyx-ii.com/birthsong/page.cfm?cord The writer is an Australian GP IIRC and a little bit "hippy"-ish.
http://whale.to/a/morley1.html The writer is a retired obstetritian with a whole website full of information on cord clamping.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
