After you said about onion gravy I've been looking at recipes, what a load of hassle! I think I'll stick to granules
by the time I've done my heaving toad in the hole and spuds no way am I gonna go to that effort, unless I'm trying to suck up over something :rotfl:
fry onions, add to gravy granules (already mixed with water) simples
That's my version anyway! Am so not fussing with HM Gravy!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Em, I make the most super awesome mushroom gravy and it looks a faff but really isn't. Will edit in the recipe in a second.
veg/olive oil
1 chopped onion
2 cups chopped mushrooms
1-2 cloves chopped garlic
dried rosemary, thyme, sage and parsley, ~1tsp of each
couple of tbsp flour
mug of milk
salt and pepper, if you want
fry the onion, garlic and herbs in the oil till they smell good. Add the mushrooms and a bit more oil and cook for another minute. Add the flour, stirring it so it doesn't go brown. Add the milk, stir some more and add salt/pepper if you want (I add pepper but no salt). Turn the heat down and leave it till it's the consistency you want.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Any reason why Jack can't have sausage and mash?
Charlotte has had sausage from an early age. She loves dishes like toad in the hole or sausage casserole.
I never bothered much about salt in oxo cubes and gravy granules. I don't add salt to anything while cooking or buy really salty foods, so Charlotte has had a pretty low salt diet anyway. I figured by the time you dissolve an oxo cube in a meal then share it around the family, there's not going to be that much salt in her portion anyway.
She was cute this morning. She gave James loads of hugs and kisses in the doorway and then stopped and wagged her finger at him and said "that's your lot, now get to school" :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
:T For MM's Dylan and double :T:T for Poppies transfer.
Massive Hugs for Beenie. What a total !!!!!! - to use Sami's expression. Do NOT visit him in hospital. Leave him there and if he needs anyone to, let his ex wife see to him, if he's never upset her!
Hugs to SS too for no sleep and having to work. Its not fun is it?
Not jealous of MFD's holiday at all
Glam, I tried Alex on the Cow & Gate Night time milk last night. Went down quite well. Much better than the HIPP one that he simply refused. Didn't result in a big sleep though. But maybe this means he wouldn't be adverse to a change to Cow & Gate follow in milk. Got a £1 coupon in the post from them yesterday and a coupon for a free carton too. May get this and try him at the weekend, when i'm there to see how he goes.0 -

only cos when we do a chilli (about the only thing we make from scratch) we add the oxo cube nearly last to see if it needs thickening up...
K ate carrot yesterday!! think he's more 'savoury' than 'sweet'. just added a few drops of his bootle in the carrot. he was gagging a bit...and DH was he's choking
and had some toast this morning. well sucked it till it was mush and i dont htink he actually swallowed it but he's getting used to food!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Beenie, I wanted to ask, did the ex arrive with a weeks worth of clothing and a toothbrush along with the medication? If he didn't then I think it's safe to assume he brought the medication with an OD in mind if you didn't play his pathetic games.0

Jillie - did you puree the carrot? Jack loves it with Sweet Potato!
Following the success of the toast this morning he is about to have mashed banana. We'll see!
Oh and the cheapie gripper bottles that I bought yesterday - the teats are fab! Fast flow and don't get cloged up with his Comfort milk like the TT ones do.
A whole £1 for 2 teats!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
