Buttons, you've got me playing on the NHS BMI calculator now. It's very bizarre - it does centiles for children and BMI for adults but the change over is 18 years and four weeks. My old college is the place to go to lose weight - apparently my BMI dropped from 19 to 15.7 in my first term at university (which was nine and a half weeks). Just because I wasn't a big rugby player they gave me small portions and I expected full board to actually be sufficient food to sustain me.

The cheeky swines Susan  Some people have higher metabolisms!

Yeah it is weird, like my sister is 16 and I would use BMI on her and not centiles but when you put it on the calculator it says she is obese or something, and if you add 2 years to her age just tells her she is overweight.
  • I don't think so, nothing has been diagnosed but it would be hard to tell because she spends 0 time with him for his milestones to be recognized.

She bungs him in front of the cartoons with some rattles on his walker.

Funny though when people come round she makes a huge dance and show about how great she is but she doesn't really care, she is very lucky that she lives with her mum and her mum looks after the baby a lot. I dread to think what would happen if she had him all the time!!

She is one of those people who buys nike shoes etc, but doesn't actually bother with the kid.

I bet it won't be long before Dylan is zooming round the house, and chasing after Jasmine.

Is there anything noticeably wrong with Dylan? I remember you mentioned he needed pyshio (I know thats not the right spelling!) for his hands? Are they all good now?

poor kid :( I used to set Jas infront of the TV in her walker if I needed to do something, or just needed a break for 5 mins, but why have a kid if you cant accept that you need to spend time with them AND WANT TO !!!!

His hands are great now !! If you met him, you would think he was perfect in every way, no outward signs that there are other problems. He still gets physio and hydrotherapy to help him as he has high muscle tone so cant do some of the things he ''should'' be able to do for his age.

I look forward to the day he is chasing Jas .. but I know already I will cry when he takes his first steps :o

    Hi Everyone

My little girl is 16 months and enjoys her bottles one on a morning and one before bed, she has one formula and one whole milk. I don't know whether to just use whole milk for both, but I am confused by the adverts saying '80% don't get enough iron blah blah, but will get it from follow on milk blah!'

    What are your views??

    Thanks

My outspoken obnoxious view is that follow on milk is the only formula that can be advertised on television and so the manufacturers have a vested interest in making sure the heartstrings and hence the pursestrings of conscientious mummies are tugged with bank-breaking force. If a baby is eating processed crap all day then a follow on milk will provide extra mineral content, but if s/he's getting a balanced diet then whole milk should be fine.

Mine too - I started out at 7 stone and dropped to under 6.5 in just over a month because they were feeding me tiny portions because I was a tiny person and getting tinier because my metabolism needed as much as the giant rugby players.

Last things being done now and then bed :j I have a book here I need to put away but I'm leaving it so I can do it tomorrow and it counts towards my daily tidying goals :rotfl:
Yes yes I'm only cheating myself. Anyway, goodnight lovelies and if Beenie comes on will someone please examine her feet for fiery footwear? :)

Those high chairs are pap. The tall bit on the top of the headrest is too high, and when Seth's been in them he's always hit his head! Last time I went out with him and tried to sit him in one was a disaster, he ended up sat on my lap and threw my food everywhere :o IME putting blankets and coats around him doesnt help... sorry! Given the choice, I'd rather leave him in his buggy to eat than put him in one of those now. And the buggy is new and currently food-stain-free!!

If you areconcerned and are unsure whether she is getting enough iron, I would suggest keeping some kind of food diary and then analysing it to see how much iron she is getting from her food.

Unless she is eating burgers and chips every day just give her the coo juice. :D

I'm in the minority that will no doubt use follow on milk after 1year old, but I know there is no need for it and if she was only taking 1 bottle a day of it, I'd just drop it.

There's always going to be someone somewhere saying your doing it all wrong so just go with your gut.

GISI, I umpteenth the suggestion of just using a blanket to prop him up. Amber sat in one of those last week with a blanket and was fine.
