As far as I can tell I/we are owed at least whatever we have paid to date for the service we have not received.

This debt/compensation is recoverable from both Advent and Anglo Capital. Anglo Capital recently changed their company name to Access2TradeCareers!

So I have no idea what this means and don't know why Anglo Capital are still taking payments from my account (as far as I know the payments are even in the name of Anglo Capital)

I think I'll be taking legal advice. I'll probably make a blog later today too with all the information I have about the various name changes etc of Advent and Anglo Capital.

The companies with the same company number as Advent changed directors several times - almost once a year.

If you notice the registration number for this company is different to that on there website, there going to do all of this again in a year or two under another company name!!! probaly not this one as not that Ive just shown alot of people the light on this company, hahahaha

I was very close to posting all of the addresses of Directors purely because I'm so outraged at this but I thought that could get me into serious trouble posting there home addresses and unfortunatley NO! I can't find out there personal home or mobile numbers... I also thought that could be one step to far If I did have access to that kind of information

I also found this list of companies that the Director there called Andrew Allchurch apparently has set up and still has 5 other companies running.
I found it pretty disturbing to look at myself please see it below;

The BBC and all the administrators probaly have access to all of this information aswell but I though I would share it with you guys aswell, as you can see he has multiple companies and a couple with very very similar names.

The Directors full name is ANDREW RICHARD ALLCHURCH

there are many folk today who will feel quite sick with worry and anger that this company has put so many folk in unrectifyable financial peril.The best thing to do frankly is to cut your losses and add to the defficit,GO BANKRUPt after all ,who wants to pay for something for four years that you will not receive....shucks...:(

You,ll need £350.00,then go along to the court and file for bankruptsy.It,s best you have just enough money coming in to live on,then you can clear the debt,but you will be on the bad credit register for years and wont be able to get a loan

I worked for another training company and we had to have a reserve of funds so that students could finish any training they had paid for.

This was a multi million pound reserve so have Advent got one or if not why have they been allowed to get away with it?

I'm at work so the blog will have to wait but here's what Consumer Direct said verbatim (almost):

1. Since Advent Computer Training Limited is insolvent they (apparently) have no money with which to refund me or anyone else.

2. The course of action is to write a letter to Anglo Capital Limited (or whoever you have the loan agreement with) and state that Advent have failed to provide the service and have defaulted on their contractual obligation.

Due to Advent's failure it is the duty of Anglo Capital to provide me/you with another training provider.

Also state that they have 14 days to reply and if they do not then Consumer Direct will need to be contacted for the next course of action.

Also it is important to state in the letter that any payments taken by Anglo Capital from [date of letter] will be MADE IN PROTEST. This means you can claim back any payments taken from the date of the letter.

They also said to mention the T's & C's of Advent/Anglo but that its unlikely that I will get a refund.

Note: According to Companies House, the postcode of Advent Computer Training is exactly the same as Anglo Capital Limited.

However, I have a letterhead from Anglo Capital from 2006 where the letterhead states a different postcode (different by two letters) although the rest of the address is exactly the same.

So for everyone wondering what to do, it seems that writing letters is what needs to be done. I will be sending one to Anglo Capital to inform them of Adven'ts Default and one to Advent informing them that they themselves have defaulted on their obligation to provide a service.

Adven'ts T's & C's state that in the "Event of Default" they are liable to pay the Fee which is the total value of the course. But as has been said its unlikely that they have the funds to pay even one person this Fee.

The only other recourse I can see is to sue Anglo Capital but I'm not sure how much that will cost.

The main thing is if you want to stop the payments you need to put something in writing.

Also IF YOU CANCEL THE DIRECT DEBIT THEN YOU ARE IN BREACH OF CONTRACT.

So I was told not do that...

I won't be making this mistake again. I can take the exams at college for £150 each at the most...
