I could loose my job!! I don't know what to do! Need Martin!!
Tempting with the bridge but we gotta stick together and pull through... unrealistic as that seems.... :(

I had one book, a cd, a cheap screwdriver set, sandwiches at a class, a class and a couple of emails. In 3 years, albeit somewhat my fault.

Feel for those of you in the industry now without a chance in hell of getting a qualification to progress. I was lucky that I got a job outside the industry, only doing repairs on ebay for profit and practice.

Anyone who has taken the loan through Advents finance, surely they are in breach of contract which means the agreement is nul and void (fingers crossed)

Were going to look into legal advice on it just to make sure.

What about a CDL? Doesn't their agreement still apply for those who opted for finance? Surely it would be their legal obligation to provide for services that have been paid for?

Definetely be grounds to sue as per the contract. I'm no expert unfortunately but they are breach of the original contract (if you can call it that)

I'd fight it all the way. We struggled to pay it when the 'services' were on hand, so erm cant afford to pay it now.

Btw there are 3 threads running for this topic. One said it doesn't even look like the contract/finance is accredited through the CCA.

  • Very simply, anyone who has paid on a Consumer Credit Act (CCA) regulated finance agreement, i.e. Barclays Partner Finance, then under the indemnity that Barclays have given then they are liable to pay for any students to finish their course with another training provider. The CCA makes a lender liable to fulfill the obligations of the supplier should the supplier go bust.

Anyone who has signed under an agreement direct from the training provider (i.e. anyone who failed the finance application to Barclays) should cancel immediately their direct debit and let the liquidator pursue them for the balance.

Advent Training Gone bust... what now??

Most solicitors will give there forst 30/60 minutes for free. First consultation if you will, just make sure you ask all the right questions to make the most of it.
  • hi all,

Apparently Barclays are going to be sending out a letter to everyone that had finance between them and advent, they claim that they will be relocating our training to another provider?

Is there anyway to get out of them doing this, i would much rather not do the course at all, this has got all very messy and dont want to go through it again.
