The link works just fine for me. It's an Alienware Aurora Desktop, starting at $1,199.
Alienware® 19-in-1 Media Card Reader [Included in Price]There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Lots of laptops and desktop don't have an SD card slot.
That's it. At last you've hit the nail on the head, the reason for the iPad to cost more
But these poor unfortunates can buy a multi-format card reader for about £5, and plug it into a USB slot.
They can get a bluetooth plug-in for about £3, bluetooth GPS for a few quid if they want it
Mobile internet access for a couple of quid a month
You keep mentioning features which don't actually cost much.
What is it about the iPad that justifies the price? The screen might be quite a bit, and the solid state memory still goes up a bit for the larger sizes, but even so the thing is overpriced.
What it reminds me of most of all, for all Jobs' hype about a device in the gap between a phone and a PC, is they've re-invented the PDA with a screen about 3 times bigger.0 -
Based on the price of other devices.
Do you have an inner ear infection?
Actually Marty, I think you are the one with a "medical" condition.
You are quite nasty and condescending in most of your replies to anyone who dares raise a point against your beloved "Apple".
Most people on here are just voicing THEIR opinion, you seem to have an allegiance to apple that goes beyond normal consumer experience.
Are you on their payroll?“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

I'm not really sure how to answer your question. Given that I've never used one, I don't know for sure if it's worth $499 or not. If what has been demonstrated comes to fruition, then I think it will be.

I'm sorry if I've upset you. I don't think I've been nasty or condescending to anyone.
It's kinda weird that other people have been openly hostile towards me in this thread, and that's just fine and dandy with you though.
Still, I don't pretend to understand these things, so, once again, I'm sorry if I've upset you.Are you on their payroll?
I wish!0 -
:pYour forgiven, but I still dont see why Apple dont get you on the "team";)“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0

I'd be more than willing; they built the first Apple Store in Ireland 10 minutes from my house, then I moved to Arkansas, one of only 5 US states not to have one!0 -
Have to say the iPad seems disappointing in it's current state, obviously I'm sure Apple will release a V2 in the coming months.
Think the HP Slate is much better, specwise anyway.0 -
$29 is not horribly expensive. That would barely buy you a USB cable at Best Buy..
Are you joking?
$9.99 even if you were to buy from the ridiculously overpriced Best Buy. Although most sensible people would choose to buy one for pennies from eBay or Dealxtreme.
Mind you, as an Apple Fanboi you probably love overpaying for things - I bet you go for the Monster gold-plated triple-shielded OFC USB cable, because you think it gives you better image quality when you transfer your pictures with it :rotfl:poppy100 -

Nope. As a matter of fact, I can get $160 HDMI cables for $15, and I still buy the $3 ones from eBay. I'd still be using the same iPod I purchased 4 years ago, but my wife knew I was going to propose and she had her answer engraved on the back of an iPod Touch. I've owned 2 computers in the last 10 years (both of them iMacs).
I don't like spending more money than I have to. For one thing, I can't afford it.0 -
"The Full Web" according to Apple:my wife knew I was going to propose and she had her answer engraved on the back of an iPod Touch.
Aww, that's sweetpoppy100
