No doubt some of the mac fanboys will defend it to the end and claim some of the above dealbreakers are features rofl.As has been pointed out, the large bezel is so that you can hold it without touching the screen.
:rotfl:
It's also pretty weighty @ 1.5lb good luck holding that comfortably while trying to read a book for more than a couple of hours.0 -
Have you seen his avatar? It is pointless discussing anything like this sensibly with him.
Sorry robt, I didn't realise I was being so unreasonable.
Maybe if you can think of some other unreleased product none of us have used that's not made by Apple, I can do a better job of criticising it. Who wants to talk about how terrible Windows 8 is?
Baby steps and all that.Agree, the same mechanism used to decide the selling prices for their products.
Well in this case, I guess I lucked out.Besides! I thought touching the screen was a feature.
Not if you're unintentionally touching it just trying to hold onto the thing.
The bezel is about 3/4 of an inch wide. Which, by happy accident, is about the width of my thumb.
I wonder if there's a strange mystical connection between the physical properties of the human body and the width of the bezel?0 -
I would like to introduce you to the latest product in the Apple range.
The iToast is a toaster which has a touch-screen on the side which allows you access to the interweb, it can toast bread, however the only bread allowed inside is Apple iBread, and using any other bread will void the warranty. Going on sale from next week from a bargain £300!
*gets coat*
But seriously, no multi-tasking, no usb connectors and your limited to what you can have on the tablet, thanks apple but I don't have £400+ laying around to spend on a locked-down tablet.0 -
I like the concept of it, but like all Apple products it's very expensive; perhaps overpriced. I think half of the price is to make the computer look pretty, tbh. They really didn't think the name through properly, either, did they?Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

It starts at $499, which I think is pretty reasonable. They really didn't think the name through properly, either, did they?
I think "iTablet" or "iTab" works better (if they must continue with their iSomething naming scheme).0 -
And no, $29 is not horribly expensive. That would barely buy you a USB cable at Best Buy.
$29 for a USB cable from best buy????????????

The biggest problem I read about was lack of multi tasking.
