OP found the money..... It was never their intention to steal anything from anyone....... Do the honest thing however it would be a nice treat in 6 months when you pick it up from the police station. :-0

it was £200 btw. i will be handing it in tomoz but im just worried i will get into trouble anyway. i have been speaking to friends and most of them say keep hold of it and see what happens. coz their view is if it happend to them, they would never see the money again. i do feel guilty, but then it could have been taken by someone else who couldnt giv a !!!!. i do, coz it belonged to someone, but mabey they should have been more careful then. but thx for the advice anyway all. and thx for scaring the !!!! out of me some of you. lol

How do they know if it happened to them they'd never see the money again? That's stupid reasoning for keeping the money. It doesn't matter if someone else after you might have kept it. You seem to be sure of what everyone else would do in the same situation - and according to you and your friends, everyone is dishonest.

if it was me i would love to keep it but guilt would get better of me i have been in situation one christmas with drew 100 put in pocket and it disappeared

This is definitely a case of theft by finding, the money needs to be handed in asap.

This happens an awful lot and in most cases the "finder" is found.

i was only asking for some advice. obviously all the things ive seen about this subject are saying that they handed the money in or people telling others to hand it in. obviously no one is gonna admit to keeping it. im sure there are lots of people who would keep it and who have done, even kept money found in a street.

if im really that dishonest then my conceince wouldnt be getting the better of me. i am an honest person. i have found things before and handed them in, even getting no thanks, but thats not the point. i just wanted to use this as a chance to discuss it with people and see what others opinions were.

to be honest i have never been in that positon not that much. i hhave found ten pound in taxi i kept that found ten pound in shop kept that . some one drop ten pounds but i ran after them and gave it back so i am guiltly of both its funny have every one is perfect like people who say they never fart every one does hee hee
