Lokolo, I would like you to explain, how to recieve wages if not through a banking system. We have had the suggestion of the Post Office, however, the policies and procedures still govern how consumers access their money according to their rules. I would like a legal solution.

So all banks stop you withdrawing money?

Weird,

On 27-12-2007, the OP claimed to have had their Abbey account closed:

...why on earth would the OP have continued to bank with Abbey if they had been treated badly?!

The user is a troll with nothing better to do than create a little argument about nothing. Reported for spam!

...Plus on the very same day, moaned about a completely different problem involving Abbey:

It is very likely the OP is an ex Abbey employee with sour grapes.

If you don't like their service, go somewhere else.

Where do you go? To be treated fairly? h
• Can someone explain to me what the term "Troll" means please.

Is it a known term, or is it being used by one user under different names as a derogative term?

It is not the bank's convienience the reason as to why. It's the customer's. They complain queues are too long.

Troll, you cannot beat me.

Thats why there are other banks who give our Visa Debit cards their most basic card, example, Lloyds.

I don't know of any that do not take card. The only place I know with a minimum spend is my uni shop. You are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. You should spend your time more wisely. Goodbye

If you want services as provided by a proper bank then get an account at a proper bank - not a building society.

Sad to say, Abbey National ceased to be a building society back in 1989. Before then, when they were a building society, they actually maintained reasonable standards of customer service. They were the first building society to de-mutualise, and I think they demonstrate very clearly why that was such a very bad idea.

A proper bank like HBOS or RBS that cost the taxpayers billions because of the way they were run? Abbey/Santander stood on their own 2 feet and requiired zilch from any taxpayer.

Bye!

Well, this is the place to share your experiences with Banking institutes and have your opinions heard, is it not??? I'm sure it is beneficial for both consumers and Banking institute to be able to hear comments and suggestions. Banks, happen to have a more disasterous and emotional impact on my life than other consumer purchases that I have made, so it seems logical that I do talk about them. There is nothing wrong with that...

Im not going into your history, as it once again takes us away from the point.

To readers of this thread who also feel that the banking system has let them down in some way or form, I have noticed that there is a new thread that is collecting customer feedback to be presented to the FSA shortly, so your feedback can be heard. I apologise if any body has been discouraged by the comments left by other users on this forum. All people have a right to state their experiences freely, bear in mind that some users may have alternative reasons for being on this site and may not be acting in the interests of the consumers.
