Carolrhos there is some positive feedback regarding AutoReisen here at
Holiday truths
I think I will give them a try - can't be any worse that the service and car I had last year from Hertz (through holiday autos) of all people!Play up Pompey!0 -
hello all.
new user, found this site and tread by accident but it is very interesting stuff re the avis discount codes. are they being challenged more at the desks now as seems to be the story having read tru all the posts since the tread was started in 2005? the later posts seem to suggest this. if i think i have more than a 50-50 chance of getting away wit it then i'l chance it. saving a fortune using it.
thanks0 -
I have used the Avis code a few times and never been questioned at the desk, however I think they have changed the codes now as no discount comes off when I try to use it when booking now. You can get £8 quidco by using Hertz though if that helps.0

An Avis code that still works - A153700
I have tried the code above it worked but a liitle uneasy to go ahead and book, £118 with my own AWD code, but £78 with the A153700 do they not check at pick up because my luck would be they would. Also to get the price i have to pay before i go or pay £94 if i pay at the other end.0 -
Have used it many times all over europe without the slightest problem. Use Avis.COM rather than CO.UK and you're still get the cheaper price without the need to pay up front.0

Thanks for the reply but when i used the avis.com site just now it has a help button next to the AWD CODE so i clicked it and it said this.
Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD)
Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number is a unique number assigned to an Avis account or program that identifies eligibility for contracted features or rates. Identification of membership is required at the time of rental.
On the rare times we have used avis (due to too expensive) using our own AWD discount (which is rubbish to be honest) we have been asked for the ID CARD which has our number on it. Still would like to give it a shot but if they refuse we will be without a car mmmmmmmm what do you think any ideas please.0
