you to the budget international website(alot dearer).
Does anybody know of companies that include the no damage excess.
Also say you have no damage excess-and the vehicle is returned with a scratch. Are you going to be charged as you don't know who is responsible or
if it is your fault are you covered?
Does damage excess cover theft?
Of course I have tried Quidco.com already
Your thoughts always appreciated
Need also to add that http://www.insurance4carhire.com/index.asp?curID=1&langID=1&refID=504&pID=33
do a decent annual excess policy(won't cover if you hire 150miles from your
home)but can also cover tyres etc.Read the t&c's
The deal on https://www.carrentals.co.uk through https://www.quidco.com seems to be a good one as it also gives 12.5% cashback.Just one problem is that they 'may'
charge an extra 15% at the airport (t@c's)which is frustrating as they don't say which airports make an addittional charge.
The hire agent also has been slow to respond to my emails.I will phone to clarify.Blast incorrect number listed on https://www.saynoto0870.com0 -

What do you mean? insurance4carhire covers you for all of Europe irrespective of where you live.0 -
It is not valid to rent a car within 150 km of your usual place of residence. This means that if, for example, you live in London, you cannot rent a vehicle in London.
This restriction does not apply to expatriates. An example would be someone who owns a home in London but whose usual place of residence is in another country. When that person visits the UK, they can rent a car in London because their usual place of residence is not London, but another country.
The restriction also does not apply if your home is separated by the sea from the country you are visiting. For example, residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are covered to rent a car in the United Kingdom, even though they may be renting a car within 150 km of their usual place of residence.0 -

i am planning i trip to New England next year and the whole car hire thing is just a mass of different options like do i use my airline/ holiday company . or is cheaper to do it yourself.
is the cheapest price the cheapest after the nasty add ons you are forced to pay when you get there.
the Times has recently started a campaign for car hire companys to clean up there act BIG TIME !!! the storys of some are ABSOLUTLEY SHOCKING !!!!! i wouldn't trust a car hire company as far as i could throw the rental after reading some of these HORROR storys.
check them out on the link below . the first page is a list of tips to avoid getting stung by them.
http://travel.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,18409-2166250_1,00.html
the way to save seems to be having the knowledge to side step the nasty tricks and add ons they use.
I also think this subject deserves a section on the MAIN site by Martin to bring all the tips + savings into one place
can anyone give me any recommendations about hiring in Boston ??. i think a out of airport car hire might be best way to go....but i,ve never been beforeBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
