The employee AWD code is getting quizzed at car pickup and phone calls are made to verify any story given. Not sure if this is everywhere, so you may want to try it and have a backup booking elsewhere...

I used the code for a booking in the USA and was categorically told that they weren't allowing bookings with this code. They eventually processed the booking with a different discount, giving less off than the employee AWD code, but still a good price.

If you have an Egg card, log in to your account, choose Egg Rewards, then Privileges.
This takes you to Holiday Autos website, but prices are discounted automatically by 10%.

Why do car hires charge different prices depending on which country you live in? I have got round this by booking the car and giving my correct address, but stating that I am resident in whichever country provides the cheapest price - saving hundreds of pounds! I have received e-mail and postal confirmation and nobody every queries this at the collection points. I have done this for the past 2 years and have just booked again - the difference is almost 200 quid!!!! It seems bizarre that if I enter Italy as my country of residence, but I am hiring a car in France, that I am charged so much less than if I entered France as my country of residence, and if I dare to put Great Britain in as my country of residence, the price shoots up almost by double!! This doesn't seem fair to me! Are we Brits SO much worse at driving that we must pay that much more?
  • Could anyone please who has used this firm let me know how dependable they are they seem very reasonable.I'm flying to Lanzarote on the 11th of January

Ditto regarding any reviews of company - they are cheapest for my 2 weeks later in the year - and also give free 2nd driver and free child seat!!
