    NSD no4 today.
Would like to think this was on purpose but had to work through lunch and was very late leaving work. I live in a small town so ALL shops are shut by 6.30 it puts temptation out of the way but can be really anoying at times.
  • Just checking in to claim another NSD for today :D

Tomorrow will be week's food shop, hoping it'll be a limited spender but we will see.
    :)
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person... :D:p

  • NSD number 3, and 3 in a row, so proper pleased!

    Best wishes, all!
  • Yay, had a successful day, 5th NSD notched up:T.

cceebeeby, a NSD for me is basically non-essential spending. To me that is buying silly things like snacks, fast food, mags, newspapers, alcohol :P, smellies (unless it's needed of course!), spontaneous clothes and shoes shopping, buying online music etc.

I think your list is fine as a list of things exempt from a NSD, but i'm new to this myself :D and would be interested in how others are organising their NSD :T

I forgot to put down church plate as well, I think that should be an official 'non spend' once per week.

At the moment I count everything as a spend, other than direct debits (and paying off credit card!). This includes the days I see my CB Therapist and/or my physio - I pay them both with cheques. I therefore I know which days will be definite spend days, and time my other spending (ie shopping) in with these days. It has given me quite a good regime to limit my spending, though it does go awry somtimes...as unexpected spends crop up...but such is life! ;)

Thankfully I am now becoming well enough not to be having sessions with both every week (VERY expensive...but what price my health...??). This means I will have more lea-way every other week as to when I do my spending. I am still not back at work, so don't need to go out every day for other reasons...and I have plenty to do at home to keep me out of mischief! My main place of work, when I return (soon I hope) has moved premises from the town centre (so many temptations to spend!) to an industrial estate...much better for NSDs!

Right, off to finish clearing up the kitchen, the hobnobs and buns should have cooled down enough to get packed away...lots to the freezer...if I can find room that is!!!

Night, night all....will pop in later in the week...physio tomorrow, and MOTs to be paid for on Thursday or Friday (eeek!)...so only one more NSD before the weekend I think...hey, ho! :D

    I'd suggest you put it in as an ingrediant on BBC food and see what recipes come up. I do it with ricotta and pasta in a bake;

    50g butter
    bunch spring onions
    250g spinach thawed
    200g penne pasta
    nutmeg, salt and pepper
    30g grana padano cheese
    1 tbsp chopped herbs
250g ricotta with 2 tablespoons of milk

Soften bunch of sliced spring onions in 40g butter for 2 mins.
Add 250g thawed spinach with water squeezed out
Leave over a low heat to absorb butter
    Cook pasta
    Season spinach and onions
Add 20g grana padano and herbs
    Drain pasta and add
    Stir in ricotta mix
Put in buttered dish, scatter with rest of cheese and drizzle with butter
    Grill

Thanks for the recipe Butti, that looks good 6.gif

Had a mega serious spend day today :(. Petrol, Mr Ts, etc, etc, etc, but should have an NSD tomorrow :j.

Well done everyone, have a good day tomorrow

At last ... number 6 for me today!

    Hi CeeBeeby

This is my first month on this challenge - I dont think there should be hard and fast rules as everyone's reasons for doing the challenge are different. I think your "rules" are really good and they are personal to you. I think payments towards your debts shouldnt count as "spends" .For me a NSD means no spending on anything outside of bills, fares, food, ie planned/necessary spending, that's why my target of 5 days was so low! I just wanted to be more aware of when and how often I was spending and in this respect the challenge has really opened my eyes! It also keeps me from online shopping which Im guilty of cos somehow it doesnt feel like spending IYSWIM! Hope this helps!
Had another NSD yesterday and will have one today too as I'm working, which means I'll reach the target!!
