Hi ladies
Have been lurking a while ago, not had time to keep up with you all so sorry if this has been asked before!
AF was due on Tuesday, still not showed. I have done 3 tests, one on Tuesday, one yesterday and one first thing this morning and all BFN. Is this normal?? Could I be preg and it not show on the test??
Very confused. Stopped taking the pill in Nov last year and have had 28 day cycles (except one 29 day) ever since then. I'm in limbo cos I'm scared I might be preg, I do a lot of sports and am having to come up with excuses just in case!!
I thought you lovely ladies are so knowledgeable so am hoping you might have some ideas. I've tried google but not got anything conclusive other than wait a few days and try again and I'm not very patient!!
It is possible - it happened to me with DS, my HCG levels were too low to register even though I was pg. It is uncommon, but it is possible to have a false negative.
What are you making excuses for, is it avoiding sports? Obviously it's personal choice, but unless the sports in question are deep sea diving or basejumping, I'd carry on as normal, it's healthy to stay active, and if there is a baby in there, it is well protected0 -
Thanks Fuzzy...knew you wouldnt let us down! xMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

SK - (((hugs)))honey
I think you're right in booking a GP appt. I hope that you get your BFP vry very very soon (pref this cycle
) It sucks big time when everyone in RL seems to get preggers straight away!
I could not sleep last night, after much surfing i seem to have self diagnosed PCOS. I know I'm stupid and shouldn't be searching these things but now I'm worried. It's not the overweight part but other symptoms (excessive dark hair, esp around AF timeIt's got to the stage where I'm at the waxing salon more than the hairdressers!
I actually phoned my GP when I got up this morning, but of course he's on holiday and I have to call back on Tues for an appt for next Friday
Oh, and I also remember my older sister having an op about 10 years ago which I think had to do with ovarian cystsBut I don't want to ask her now as she doesn't know I'm ttc.
Self-wallowing pity over. I need to go get ready as have my reflexology sesh at 2pm. Let's hope she can work her magic :T
Hugs and sticky stuff to all x0 -
I play roller derby which involves trying to knock each other over on roller skates, and as I fall over on my own I think I should give this one a miss for the moment. Shame as its a lot of fun and keeping me fit at the moment!
I also read that high impact stuff might be a problem, so was avoiding going for a run or circuits, but maybe I'm just being too paranoid (or lazy!!)0 -
fuzz nice one! and sammygirl could be, are you going to get a check??
Not sure whether CD2 or not (?!) going away for the weekend and just met a colleague's 2 year old who really confirmed that I can stand the extra hassle and expense!
Chin up and enjoy the weekend if you can guys. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I've been told that running is ok so long as you stay within your normal capabilities and don't let yourself overheat. I'm still running ~ 10 miles a week during my tww and would hope to continue if I get pg until it gets uncomfortable or the medical folks tell me not to.0 -
I ran until 7 months with no problems (and evented and showjumped my horse as well, but wouldn't have done if I'd known I was pg), cycled until my bump put me off balance, and swam all the way through til he was born. All this was with the blessing of GP and midwife. They even encouraged me to carry on riding, albeit at a more sedate pace than before. If I remember correctly, it's the softening of ligaments that can be problematic, but that happens later in pregnancy in preparation for labour.
The only thing I found I had to be careful of, was of reaching up high and straining my tummy muscles (shutting the boot of a big car was impossible, but I could still carry the shopping in!)
I would say, your body knows when it needs to slow down, and it will let you know - so keep as fit and active as you can, and keep it going as long as you can, it makes everything easier, bump smaller, labour faster (midwife told me it might be quick when I was 7 months, as I was very fit - DS was born after 3h 15min, shame I'm not that fit any more!)0 -

***sneaks in still lurking from the less than 12 weeks pg board ****
I've just had to stop my runningas my asthma was getting too bad. Was gutted not to be able to do my 5k race on Sunday.
Hugs to all my amazing ladies. Have a good weekend :A

Thanks for that advice about fitness stuff, it sounds like I was being a bit too cautious then - I haven't got any medical advice just some stuff from books and what I've picked up off the interweb! Sounds like I would be able to carry on with a lot that I thought I'd struggle with!!
Yeah, the roller derby is hardcore (altho am still learning it all so not anywhere near that hardcore yet!!) A lot of the info on it is from the US and I think the rules are a bit stricter over here so it isn't quite so dangerous! Saying that a couple of hours skating practice is a great way to get fit without even noticing you're doing exercise0
