Dusty - I don't think you need convincing love. I think you've already decided lol. Get a quote from trailfinders and then go to the holidays board on here as they have a beat my quote thread where you post your quote and any mse travel agents will try and beat it for you.

Gizmodo - I sympathise. I'm 31 so I try not to look at those stats. My mum had babies at 30, 32 and 34, so there's loads of hope :)

so my watery cm has gone and I'm back to creamy. Who knows what's going on!

God yes, you should have nothing to worry about. Most women i know now wait til their 30s. I have 5 close girlfriends and non have children, I'm the only one remotely close. there really isn't that much in 20% or 15%, both aren't great odds are they?

Want to go at new year as never been to new york before and always seen NYE on the tele and it looks amazing. The flights we are seeing now are very reasonable and so think if we left it til nearer the time they might be too dear.

Be interesting to know how much the flights were for this new year, to see if it's worth waiting to book, funnily enough I never thought about waiting, story of my life! Want everything yesterday which is why TTC is so frustrating i was convinced it would happen straight away

Have you been on the NY thread in the holidays forum? There's a wealth of info over there. I can't even remember what we paid, think it was £1400 for 6 nights in a hotel and flights for 2 people. (stayed at the cosmopolitan hotel - as is recommended a fair bit on the NY thread which is why we went there).

How long have you been ttc Dusty?

Statistics are nothing. One could be young but never conceive, and other could be 40 and conceive first time. It's more to do with luck I think:p

we can do flights and hotel 4 nights over NYE for £650each but as i say that is paying everything out now and no chance of getting moeney back if we cancel. will check out the NYE thread. I'm doing loads of research but sadly no one can tell me if i'll be pg by then :(

been off the pill since feb 09 but only been charting ov dates and OPK testing for last 2 cycles. going for CD21 blood test on weds, not sure if it is CD21 for me though.
  • Morning ladies,

OK then if I was in your situation and had never been to NY before, I'd risk £1300 for a baby :) do it! Like Primmer said - if you have a baby you won't care. And if you don't then you have a very cool holiday to look forward to.

CD 24 for me and I feel like AF is coming. Very moody and edgy as usual. Getting my usual bowel issues and aches, however have been wheat free for a month so I'm hoping to see some improvement with period pains this month otherwise I'm going out for pizza!

I'd do it too, even better if one can just put down a deposit:)

Hehehe me too Fuzz. FF says AF was due today. My temp dropped this morning (but that could be because it was 8 degrees inside this morning ) but still no AF. When my temp drops, it's usually a matter of hours before she shows.

Unfortunately I have no symptoms apart from sore boobies & cramps (my usual AF symptoms) so hopes are most definately not up here.

Did I mention AF not here yet? :D:rotfl:
Me too AF not arrived:j Yet!! My ridiculously sore raspeberries have disappeared and I have backache so guessing the witch will be here some point over weekend!
Ladies - really need some help. Remember me telling you me and OH are considering going away next new year. Well i really want to go to New york for new year but OH wants us to go onto Miami for a few days after which I would love to do. BUT
    a) I really don't want to be waddling round a beach if I by some miracle I am PG by then
    b) If by some miracle I get pg now we will have a newborn by then and so will have to cancel which will lose us a lot of money
    c) can I really justify spening all that money on a holiday when there is a chance we may have a baby to spend on if by some miracle I get pg this year or next
    d) if i dont book it and dont get pg then I'm heading for a seriously carp new year

should I go for it or listen to my head which is telling me NO. Or maybe just book to go to new york and not miami...ooh help, I'm in quandry..x
Just book it:) Theres a way around everything and if you do get pg and give enough notice most places will rearrnage stuff for a smaller fee:) And if you're going to NY have you thought about staying in New Jersey?? This is what we did(coz it was cheaper!) and was fab...we went into NY by day and spent the whole day there(10am-late) and then went to our hotel in NJ, means we got the fun & hustle & bustle of NY but when it got too much we could retreat bak to NJ where it was lovely and quiet, for us it was great as we're not hustly bustly people IYSWIM:D

Can't remembe what else has been said but can we hurry up with testing pls?? We aint had a bfp for quite a few days now...very inconsiderate of you all:p

I'm boggin off now to decide whether to hav ea bath or a shower...showers probably safer though seeing as I do't where I stand with AF and I LOVE burny hot baths:o Bah....wish the witch would just show up or not lol I'm going to need amazing willpower for the week if she doesn't show:mad:

Question about pain killers. I suffer from horrible periods and have been taking Mefenamic Acid each month. I usually start taking these a day or 2 before my period is due otherwise they don't really kick in (as told by my doc). I need to see my doc to ask if it's ok to take these while TTC, as it doesn't say on the instruction sheet - it just says tell your doctor you're TTC.

Just wondered if anyone had asked their docs questions about painkillers.

I'm also using Benzoyl Peroxide on my face (for spots) as I got taken off antibiotics last time I told the doc I was TTC. Anyone know if this is a no no? I will ask at the docs, but just seeing if anyone else knows.
