Dusty - I would go for it and book it. If you get a bfp you won't worry but if you are still ttc then it will be the break you need x

Thanks Primmer, i think I know what I want to do i just need someone to push me into it. ;). My heart is definitely ruling my head.

    What does MMC stand for?

@dustystar - it's hard for me to say go for it, cos we're waiting a bit before booking our holiday. If you can afford the loss do it!

SK - keeping my fingers crossed for you... (can I have a wheat free cake please!)

Absolutley can't afford the loss but if I am PG then i'm sure I won't mind. We've never done any holidays this grand before but all out friends with kids are telling us to do it. They all wish they'd done more stuff like this before they had children.

Oh who am I kidding, I'm obviously going to book it aren't i?

Anyone any clue on CM changes throughout a cycle?

Can't you take the baby with you Dusty? I don't know much about babies since I don't have one, but I've seen people with really small babies on the planes, and they seem to be fine:huh: Well what do I know.

May not be possible if you are heavily pg tho.
  • Q - ha that's really planning ahead isn't it?
Quite possibly, although not sure I'd want to take a newborn on such a trip and so far from my mum :o. i just think i'm jimxing myself if I don't book on the strength of getting PG.
Sods law if i book it i will fall PG. Ooh maybe more reason to book it then? ;)
  • sammy girl - just been doing some research and can't find a cycle by cycle chart but this may help

Dusty - fab hol plans. We did NYC - Orlando - Miami in aug last year (honeymoon) and can highly recommend. Miami is a major party people place so not sure if it's ideal for a newborn. Can I suggest you book through a travel agent (recommend Trailfinders.com for long haul), that way you pay a deposit now (20% I think) then the balance is due 2 months before. Worst case scenario is you lose your deposit. If you are preggers at that time I would still go. We've booked our august hols to NYC and LA and if I'm lucky enough to get pg, the max I will be is 6 months.

There's nothing better than booking a hol and having something to look forward to x

Ooh, that your honeymoon sounds amazing. Maybe you can give me some Miami tips IF I decide to go?
yeah i don't really think Miami is good if heavily pregnant. Really wouldn't fancy the stress of being a new mum in a strange place either.
your hol in aug sounds fab and if you're doing it then you may have just convinced me too. December just seems so far away.

We have already booked to go to Egypt in May so maybe I should just be happy with that and stop being so greedy and spendthrift (if that's the right word)

Good tip about the travel agents but the quotes are so dear. booking flights and hotels seperately means we save £600 each but obviously run the risk of losing it all. i'll have a look at trailfinders though. thanks for the tip

That's the way I look at things but I'm a pessimist. We were planning a holiday for september, but if I got PG now (I wish), we'd bring the holiday forward.

Do you have to book this far in advance? Does it have to be New Year? Why not go now? //Edit - just seen your post above.

I keep depressing myself googling conception info to be told that I don't have a 20 something % chance each month, but 15% chance because I'm over 30. I'm getting worried I've left it too late. But lots of women have babies in their 30s don't they?

God yes, you should have nothing to worry about. Most women i know now wait til their 30s. I have 5 close girlfriends and non have children, I'm the only one remotely close. there really isn't that much in 20% or 15%, both aren't great odds are they?

Want to go at new year as never been to new york before and always seen NYE on the tele and it looks amazing. The flights we are seeing now are very reasonable and so think if we left it til nearer the time they might be too dear.

Be interesting to know how much the flights were for this new year, to see if it's worth waiting to book, funnily enough I never thought about waiting, story of my life! Want everything yesterday which is why TTC is so frustrating i was convinced it would happen straight away
