Question about pain killers. I suffer from horrible periods and have been taking Mefenamic Acid each month. I usually start taking these a day or 2 before my period is due otherwise they don't really kick in (as told by my doc). I need to see my doc to ask if it's ok to take these while TTC, as it doesn't say on the instruction sheet - it just says tell your doctor you're TTC.

Just wondered if anyone had asked their docs questions about painkillers.

I'm also using Benzoyl Peroxide on my face (for spots) as I got taken off antibiotics last time I told the doc I was TTC. Anyone know if this is a no no? I will ask at the docs, but just seeing if anyone else knows.
HI Giz I don't have personal experience but a bit of googling says that Benzoyl Peroxide is fine when ttc and as for painful periods I found this link

@fuzz thanks. I've been googling. Found a post by someone who said her doc said not to take Mefenamic Acid unless she'd definitely come on her period. So think I might wait till I come on rather than risk it. So not looking forward to a 'real' period. The thought of potentially having to suffer 12 or more makes me want to cry.

Right I must step away from the computer and stop reading ttc/pregnancy/baby horror stories! I'm making myself worry more than I need to! Off to do something non baby related :)

  • Sparkle - sorry about your bfn but while AF is still away there's still hope right?

Giz, quaver, Fuzz - you're all bad influences! Have posted on the NY thread to see if there's a chance flights might still be same price if we waited to book in sept or oct. Quaver you've convinced me to wait and OH agrees thats best. Just dont want to wait til sept if I'm still not PG and the flights are 3 times the price.

giz - i take feminax for period pains, they seem to work ok for me but again not sure what that means for TTC? be interested to hear.

Fuzz - sending HUGE stay away AF vibes to you.

Off out with the girlies for dinner tonigth - woo hoo..xxx

I've got everything crossed for you Fuzz.

I'm in for another month i'm afraid. I'm spotting and getting cramps so she's not far away now, although she is taking her time to arrive this morning!

My temp was way down again this morning so it's just a waiting game.

Ahh well, attempt number 7 here we come.

£1120 for the both of you or each? We've been to Vegas too, it was amazing, the heat was too much though for my english rose complexion ;). Cashback throug quidco? I'd not used that before but hear about it all the time on mse.
NY to Miami sounds special though doesn't it, that would be about £900 each. NY on it's own about £650. Hmm............;)

    Good Morning Ladies :)

What a beautiful day outside! Just got back from a nice stroll with the dog, and I think I may well do some gardening today :)

Fuzz - I have everything crossed for you (including legs!), we really really do need some more BFPs - its been ages! I'd love anice bath but I'm sticking to showers at the mo. Irrational I know!

SK - Sorry that you think AF is on her way. What a cow. Fingers and legs crossed for you too that she doesn't come and that your body is just teasing you!

Dusty - Have you not booked it yet lol???? Call Trailfinders, their long haul dept and get a quote. They do flights only as well. They really are very good.

Gizmodo - Sorry, I'm not much use with meds. But I hpe you find the ttc friendly advice you need.

Sparkle - Sorry for the BFN. But you know its not over til AF shows. When is AF due?

Well, CD20 for me, 7DPO and have been having mild cramps for the last couple of days. AF due a week tomorrow, so I must resist the urge to test until at least the following day.

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Ha, I'm keen to wait now, just waiting to see if those gurus on NY thread think I should go for it or if prices will be same if we wait. Have logged an enquiry with trailfinders. Waiting for them to reply. :)

You shouldn't test til week on monday, patience is a virtue!
