Heya
I'm doing ok, Had one hell of a weekend though. It was nan's funeral on friday, then I had to take my friend Tom into a&e with acute tummy pains. (long long story behind it) he was admitted, but discharged an hour after i had left him for some sleep so had to go back for him.
Then Saturday I had a MASSIVE row with my sister, first one ever, which left me feeling crappy. Went out saturday night for Tom's gramps 80th and Tom had to leave again to go to a&e. Wouldn't let me go, so ended up going to him afterwards. He looked terrible after the walk in centre refused to see him,and refused to get him an ambulance to the hospital! The treatment at the hospital was awful, we found him laying on the floor in reception after the receptionist told him there was nothing they could do til someone was free to see him. Not even been given painkillers by the triage nurse!
He was discharged at 3am and I drove him home with his mum, then by the time I got him home he was in complete agony again, and when he got in looked so awful, he was convinced he was dying. Called the out of hours gp as the nurse in the a&e dept said not to go back there as there was nothing they could do. Ended up with them telling me to call an ambulance! Went back there in the ambulance
The nurse who discharged him looked at us in disgust and we waited 1.5 hours 'til someone even came to look at him again!!! Eventually the doctor came to see him again (who saw him previously) told us he shouldn't have been discharged, that he had been called to resus and the nurse had been to see him and told him that Tom said that he was fine now!?!?!?
He was admitted, ended up being there for a week. I had no sleep over the weekend until about 9am sunday morning. Went back to see him in the afternoon and the treatment there was shocking too!!
Anyway, then in the evening it was actually Gramp's birthday, had a lovely meal, then Granny and Gramps left, came back after a minute and said they thought they had hit the cat! Went out there and Amber was dead on the driveway, it couldn't have been G&G as they would have been driving too slowly, and when I picked her up she was already coldNot sure if someone hit her and she came back to die (the other 3 were with her which is some comfort) or she was ill and just collapsed.
It really topped off one of the worst weekends of my life.
Anyway, now, the cats are back to normal after a couple of days of being quiet and subdued which is great, I miss her, but know that for the year we had her loved her competely and she had a nice life (as short as it was) and I have started my work at Childline! :-D I start my counselling training next week, so am looking forward to that!
Am considering getting myself a kitten (as the other 3 live at Tom's) but she will most defintiely be a house kitten!!!!
I think that is how things are at the moment, am just getting to the end of my 3rd night shift and very much looking forward to my bed! :-D

I work for a shipping company, so we operate 24 hour shifts to make sure there's people in the office when the ships are in & working.
Most of the time the nights are pretty quiet though

I'm a staff nurse at a high secure hospital.
Also pretty quiet here as our patients are locked in their rooms at night, so the majority of the time it's quiet. (said in a VERY low voice as it's the kiss of death to say it's quiet here!)Long Haul number 207 :j
