Could you cancel sky tv and go freeview? Or at least change to a cheaper package?

Cut out the £20 clothing for a few months?

What about ringing to see if you can lower your mobile contract? Some good contract deals out there if you are near the end of your contract.

  • The £20 I can cut out, I won't cut my sky because I very rarely go out, I don't have any vices that I spend money on and it is my only luxury.

I'm going to go PAYG as soon as this contract is up.

    Thanks :)

you could reduce your sky package, or do what i did..... threaten to leave and i got a few months at half price, it all helps. But then i really hated having to have sky so when they no longer offered me the half price offer i cancelled it anyway.
  • I have thought about that Lemon Tree, going to give it a go

Not going out at all today so a lovely NSD :)
Should be in work today, but am in agony with my head again. Hopefully they will find something on this Lumbar Puncture next week!

  • I honestly do not know why I bother. Have just been into the bank to see about opening another account for my bills, and to be honest, am beating myself up for bothering.
She did nothing but lay doom on me, and say I wouldn't get this, and wouldn't get that, All I wanted was a basic account for my bills.
She had a go at me for having a credit check on my file, told me that they want their money if i'm planning on going bankrupt..I'M NOT!

I know I can handle this, and sort things out now I am looking at it, but she was having none of it. Was really blunt despite me telling her I had no intention of going bankrupt, or running out on any debt. Told me I am living beyond my means, which I am not. I stay within the OD. I know it is not ideal, and of course I would pay it off if possible, but I had a very bad last 6 months which has made things look worse that it is.

I was supporting 3 adults on my wage for 3 months, (not through choice) all this whilst I was off sick.
I am getting myself back on my feet, and looking at my debts with the view to addressing them.
Why is there always someone there to knock you back down. I cried in front of this woman. How dare she make me cry.

I am so upset now, I really don't know what to do. I am so very close to saying f*** it all, but then I know there will be someone else having to pick up the pieces. The more you want to sort something out the more there are blocks.

Would you be entitled to the Alliance and Leicester Premier Current account do you think? If you applied via Topcashback you'd get £50 cashback plus £100 off A&L for switching.

Keep your chin up, she sounds like a horrible, sad individual. Rise above it, You are probably earning more than her anyway :)

Here is the link to TCB

    And to A&L's T&C's

While I think about it, you could always check out if you'd get a better deal on yourr utilities bills on Topcashback aswell. Some companies gove over £100 for switching to them.

  • Thank you Linz. I have gone into co-op about the cash minder one now. I really want the hell away from Barclays as soon as I am DF! It make take me a while, but I will do it. With this goal above the rest.

I am just despairing at the moment, feel alone, feel like even on here my threads are ignored, (yourself and others on here aside) Just feel pathetic and worthless.

    Hi WA

Been looking at your soa. It shows you as having a surplus each month of over £200 is this so ? If not a spending diary is needed to find out were it is going to.

Your gas costs seem very high, does this include arrears ? If not have you checked out switching suppliers ?

Your landline charge seems high - do you pay for calls as well as line rental ? Do you not have enough free minutes on your mobile to make use of instead of the landline ?

    What is other insurance ?

Would you be able to do a dvd rental and cut sky down ?

Well done on the weight loss.
