I guess it is about right Vandan, but I am not sure exactly where it goes so a diary is on the cards.
It doesn't include any arrears, and i'm not allowed to change suppliers under this landlord, hopefully I am moving next month so I can see how it works out in the new place.
Landline includes broadband too.
Other insurance is my RCN nursing fees.
Sky is the one thing I really don't want to compromise on. I know this sounds selfish, but I will not be going out at all, not be spending on anything else, and sky is the one thing that keeps me sane when I am not working. (sounds stupid I know, but it's true. Its a lifeline when my depression kicks in and there is nothing else I can do)
Thanks for your input, and the other things I will be looking at
ooh, and thanks, but I have a long way (weigh :-D) to go until I reach my goal but each 1lb helps.Long Haul number 207 :j

Right, I have had a hot bubble bath. Currently watching Criminal Minds (great show!) after doing a snowball calculation. From that things look a lot better than the doom monger at the bank!
I have opened a savings account with the A&L, not for savings as suck, but going to put £20 month in there, so I can pay a lump sum off cards when there is enough in there. I figure £20 a month from my money I won't miss, but will make a difference in the end.
I have also called the Co-op to chase up the cashminder account, and found that this has been opened, so I am going to use that account for my bills, feeling a little more positive than I did when I came back from town this afternoon.
Edited to add, does anyone know if I can change the title to this Diary? CheersLong Haul number 207 :j

Hi
Glad you are feeling more positive.
You def. need that spending diary, as you could be paying another £200 pm off your debts if you find it.
Can you actually afford to move ?
I think you change the title by clicking "go advanced" when you are doing a reply ??0 -
The rent etc are the same price, and it's the same agent, so there is no further bonds to be paid out. It is only round the corner so I don't need to hire a van. I can take most round in the car, and the bigger stuff will ask a friend to fit it in his LandroverLong Haul number 207 :j

Anyway, hoping tomorrow can be a NSD.
I am off work sick again at the moment as my headaches have flared up again, so I shouldn't need food or anything so we shall see.
Glad you are feeling more positive:j
Are the above perscriptions all for you? If so apply for an annual prepay. Its 10ish a month over 10 months by dd and covers all perscription costs fot a year.:j0 -

Sounds like the ideal time for a fresh start then. Hope it all works out.
Start that spending diary, and watch your future begin to unfold.0 -

It's wierd, but sitting here reading the threads, I am actually looking forward to not spending so much money. Looking forward to getting to the end of the day, and it either being a NSD or, a little spend, then putting my little coins in my 2 tubs! Is that sad?!? :-D
Also, I know I can keep my groceries down, so am using that as a kind of game really, and seeing how little I spend.
Then there is the fact that before, when I wanted something biggish, I would put it on the CC. Now I am going to save for it, I am sure that the satisfaction of getting it eventually will be better than instant gratification.
Who knows if this is going to keep up, but i'm going to give it a bloody good go!Long Haul number 207 :j

That's a really good attitude to take. To feel like you have really 'earnt' something you have saved up to buy. I only use my CC to either book flights or get petrol at Sainsburys as I collect the nectar points, then pay it off straight away.
One thing you could do with your food shopping is pop in an hour or so before they close and pick up all the yellow stickered stuff. Morrisons are particularly good for reductions I find. Have had loads of veg, salads, meats, breads which I freeze straight away/make soups from.#39 - Save £12k in 20250
