Hi Nicca and Moo
Well. I'm 31 now!!! Scary! I actually had a wonderful birthday, and didn't really spend much money at home.
My dad was an alcoholic for as long as I can remember, in fact, since before I was born.Though he was always around, he was rarely 'with it' So,why is this in this entry?
Because, my dad, who now lives in his own place having split from mum, is now completely sober. It will be a year April. The last year I have not had to worry about him once, when in the past 30 he has been a worry daily. So this was the greatest birthday with him present. He even did me a little 'party' at his house. It was nothing special for anyone looking in, but for me it was wonderful!
I am so proud of my dad, though he will never see this, I just need to say it.
Anyway, as well as my dad's party, I had a dozen black roses from my best friend Tom, True blood books, a Jeff Hardy Dvd I really wanted, and a me to you bear. I was so spoilt by him, and always am. :-D
All in all I am a happy girl todayLong Haul number 207 :j

Anyway, hoping tomorrow can be a NSD.
I am off work sick again at the moment as my headaches have flared up again, so I shouldn't need food or anything so we shall see.
Have you looked into a pre-payment certificate for your prescriptions, if you regularly need several per month ? It might save you some money (can't remember how much it costs, sorry)

Aw WA, what a lovely birthday! Well done to you Dad - no wonder you are proud :j
And well done in the rugby today! Suffuce to say I was swearing at Scotland's utter stupidity! And am very surprised you didn't get more trys than you did in the last 15 minutes or so! Stupid Scotland! Honestly, I think the only thing we could ever win would be an international irn bru (or, perhpas buckfast!) drinking competition! Just a quick update. Today has been a NSD which is great, though tomorrow not so much. Am off to Sheffield Hallamshire for my Lumbar Puncture. Not looking forward to it at all. In fact think I am a little more scared than I thought I was going to be, but i'll be a big brave girly!Long Haul number 207 :j

Holy cow, that was horrid. Never want another one of them, but have the feeling they are going to become more regular
Turns out I do have increased cranial pressure. It is supposed to be 15-17.5 mine was 30. The nurse managed to lower it for now, but I have no idea if or when it will increase again. Time will tell I guess.
Yesterday was a NSD so that was something :-P
Had a reply from Barclays re: the complaint that I sent in, Was a lot of gumpf really, but they had upheld my complaint and spoke to the woman in branch (so they say) I shall be closing the account as soon as my OD is paid off!
Have to go to work tonight, going to be painful as I will be sat in a hard chair most of the night. The joys of working for the NHS!Long Haul number 207 :j

Hi WelshAngel,
Saw your name at the top of the diary thread and thought I'd pop in to say hi! At work so don't have time to have a look at you SOA but i would say, according to all the 'oldtimers' on here, use the £20 a month to pay off your creditcards or overdraft. The theory is that no savings account pay as much monthly as you get charged in interest on debt so it's a fruitless exercise. If you feel like you might need the £20, maybe start doing it in arrears... so leave it th first month and from then on, at the end of each month, the day before payday, pay the £20 off somewhere?
That way its sitting in your account for a month and you might get, oooh, a penny maybe interest (£1.20 ish over the year, all counts :-) ), have a 'buffer' if needed month to month and you're reducing the balance the interest is charged from your debt.
Anyway, hope you're doing ok; the lumber puncture sounds horrific! But YEY for your Dad. What an achievement!
OH! Also, on the 'moneymake over' bit, there's one about prescriptions and there's some health insurance or other you can claim - if you get regular prescriotions, it might save you money.
Anyway, good luck :-)
xxx
Also, i found being able to update my NSD on my signature a small, positive thing to do every few days; baby steps, eh?LBM: January 2010DFD: August 27th 20120 -

Hey! Have you moved yet? Thought I'd let you know I saw my friend who cancelled Sky at the weekend. They called her to try and retain her business and she kept saying she couldn't afford it - in the end they offered her her 4 packages for £10 pm for a 12 month contract... definitely worth a go if you are up for trying it
She's going to cancel again at the end of her 12 months and let them win her back again

Hey!
I've not moved yet, moving on the 16th. Just had a few bad days, feeling quite down. The headaches have come back despite the LP. For a couple of days I was feeling hopeful, and now I feel like the rug has been pulled away. Very frustrating
I called Sky and told them I was thinking of cancelling as I couldn't afford the cost to move it. They 'had a little look at my account' and said that I was a great customer and they they think that they could do it for free :-D Result. I am also going to swap to them for my calls and BB i think and save a little bit more that way.
I have some birthday money left over so I am going to book in for my new tattoo tomorrow. I have 2 in the pipeline, but the next one is going to be quite expensive so i'm going to save for that! A very novel concept for me!!!
I have still been saving my £1s and £2 coinsnot a huge amount but it's a start. I'm going to be moving £150 to my co op account on pay day, so that will be my spending account, there will be £300 left in the other account after bills, so going to use that to pay some extra off the cards.
Feeling a lot more positive money wise at the moment, still a little apprehensive over the move, but also looking forward to it. I had been good with 3 NSDs but then I went shopping to Asda with my sister and ended up spending £40 mostly on her shopping!! Eep! Still, it's not all bad. I am no where near the mess I was in last month.
Finally got round to dying my hair again tonight so finally done with the 2tone look I was sporting lol. It's now all purple again! YAY! :-D
Another day off tomorrow so I shall be off to the tattooists if they can fit me in! :-D
Hoping to have another few NSDs this week due to working so that's a bonus.Long Haul number 207 :j
