Back in 2011 I moved from Wakefield to London, and then my life changed. so much so, i didn't have the time to post on here, TA was a bit more less tourist NYC centric, and was good to talk about Brooklyn rather than the same questions again and again.

Have I been back to NYC - yeah, I still go often, probably once every 2 years now, and I was there back in March for my 40th. I went to Manhattan twice in the 4 night stay, with most of my time spent in Brooklyn and Queens.

I've been to other cities in the US too. San Diego, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago.... The latter i'm heading to in March again.

And how are you,not heard much from you in a while either:)
  • You can try to explore New York on comfortable way using one of these services :
    Airport Transfers of New York
    Access Limo
    JetBlack Transportation

I tried them personally and they have good rates and excellent service.
  • Hey everyone, what would you expect to pay for direct LON>NYC return tickets in early July?

Basic seats with Virgin/BA currently coming in at about £375pp, or £480 with luggage/seat selection.

Just wondering if that's a good price, or I'm likely to get it much lower in the next month or two?

I'd say £260-£280 is a good price for a LON>NYC return ticket with hand luggage only. For 1 piece of checked luggage and seat selection, I'd look to pay in the region of £360-£390.

The general prices noted above seem to be in action up to mid-May with Virgin and BA, but shoot up from late May onwards. Personally, I'd wait until prices for July go down.
  • Hi, we are thinking of going away for next New Year, we had been thinking Edinburgh but after I missed the Premier inn rooms we thought about looking elsewhere and New York has been suggested - I know logic is missing but I'm not complaining.
Any ideas on how I can get an idea of prices as I can only find one package on sale at the moment and no flights and that was £4.5k for 2 adults and 3 children for 4 nights but not the dates I wanted.
We haven't got a budget in the typical sense but we want to get an idea of prices and see if its feasible rather than set a budget that isn't realistic.

Any ideas on where to start?

    Many thanks

Thanks @emz... Have managed to snag a good deal (I think!) via Ebookers, 2x return direct flights LHR-JFK with Virgin Atlantic in economy delight, 4x nights in a Hampton not far from Times Square, for £650pp.

    Plus £78 Topcashback :)

I’ve been for NYE, it was extremely cold and unpleasant, NYC is great in the spring/ autumn.
