    Hi all,

    Flying into Newark tomorrow mid-day.

What would you recommend to get from airport - hotel - taxi or train?

    Suggestions welcome.

    Thank you!

Depends where your hotel is, but the train from EWR into NY Penn Station is easy and cheap

I'd recomend the train then if you're only carrying a couple of light cases, train into Penn Station which is directly under MSG, then walk to the hotel as it'll only be a short distance away.

I agree, train to Penn and if you don't feel like walking you could jump in a cab outside MSG, the rank there is well organised

<<Hi Saint_Chris, yes we are all booked! We fly on June 15th for 2 weeks,>>

hi Michele-p, wow your trip sounds wonderful, we booked ours last may as well when they 1st came out, but I'm a bit gutted, I'm a mad barry manilow fan, and he's playing out in Brooklyn on the 17th june, and I would have loved to have gone, but I booked the flights before any mention of the concert was out, and I'm home before the 17th, I want to change to the 2nd week, but it's about £400 to do it, and hubby won't let me do that, he says the bargain £299 flight becomes expensive. oh well.
I'm looking at booking that row 9 as one is extra leg room, which will do for hubby and the other is a normal seat which would be ok for me.
    I can't wait now.
    cheers

Glad you are getting excited, console yourself with the fact that i wanted to buy the £299 tickets, but hubby made me wait as he had to ask work first, so we missed those! They were still cheap, but not the bargain you got (and he will never live it down!). I feel your pain, New Kids On the Block are on the night after we leave, now they were my first love, but husband believes he had a very lucky escape and no way on earth would he go to see them!

You should certainly have cover in place within a few minutes of booking.

Comparison sites like meerkat or the mob that own MSE will guide you to cheap premiums. Check you have good quality cover before buying though. Disclose all medical conditions up front.

Mrs PW gets family travel cover with her bank account alongside other insurances. This is more than adequate for a typical trip to the USA.

Expedia are fine, although I prefer to book flights and hotel directly with the airline (starting with TopCashback). Worth a look. Flight and hotel with a UK based travel company = ATOL protection.

Depends entirely on your circumstances, take a look at Martin's articles and work your way from there.

I can only use comparison sites as a first step, for example, I know I will have to phone and declare various health conditions for DH and I.

If this is not your only holiday / trip in 12 months, then consider an annual policy.

I found when I had an annual policy which didn't cover the US it was easy enough to add US cover.

and should i get insurance before booking trip,
When I didn't have an annual policy, I usually took the insurance out immediately after booking the trip. My reasoning was that until it was booked, nothing was certain. Again, for a single trip policy you have to give dates of travel, so I never knew those for certain until I'd booked: if by flying a day later or earlier I could save money, I'd do it!

If you mean Expedia, plenty of people do. What cover do they offer against going bust / airline going bust?
