I really don't know why this isn't stickied. There have been so many NYC threads recently that otherwise would have gone in here.

Just early thoughts but can anyone give some information on ski areas that could be included in a New York winter break. Was thinking of 5 days NY city then a week or so skiing.
Is this doable and what sort of standard are the ski resorts likely to be?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a trip combining NYC with Killington, if you want a decent sized resort. I'm sure there must be smaller local resorts if you want something nearer though to drive to maybe.

    Try this? http://www.timeout.com/newyork/hotels/ski-resorts-near-new-york-city?pageNumber=2

Also, we visited Brooklyn and went to a Nets game which was one of the highlights of our stay.

I'm glad you took my advice, the Nets have been playing really well this year.

    Hi, looking for advice.

We go to New York next week and Want to book to go to 911 memorial but there seems to be more than one thing you can book.

I have seen a 9/11 tribute centre offer on Groupon
A ground zero workshop tour on viator
    9/11 memorial review on Tripadvisor

    Can anyone advise please?

    Thanks for your help.

If you want to visit the memorial this is the official website to book http://www.911memorial.org/visitor-passes
Admission is free but there is a $2 service charge to book in advance online or by phone.

This may sound like a stupid question but is the city busier on weekdays or weekends?

Depends where you are in the city.

Wall street/ financial district can be quieter at the weekends, Central Park busier etc.

OK, what about stuff like 9/11 memorial. Would that be busier at weekends even though it's in the FD? Are all attractions busier at weekends?

I think the 9/11 memorial will be generally busy at the weekends.
What time of year were you thinking of going?
