Have booked the same, see you there.

Traincrashing, did you book via phone or online? Booked online yesterday as yet not had confirmation.

I emailed about their vegetarian option directly to the website so I just replied to their email as they told me to if I wanted to make a reservation.

I've not done Jersey Gardens, but I have done Woodbury Commons once. However amazing Woodbury is, I just thought it was average at best, and I still find to the day that I can get good bargains on clothes etc in Manhattan regardless.

One thing to remember, a lot of these outlet malls get clothes made for the outlet, and it isn't the same quality or style as you would get in the normal store within Manhattan.

Personally, if you are on a short break, then spend your time wisely, as both do take up a chunk of your time away from seeing NYC, just to go shopping, when you could do both things at the same time in NYC itself.

Thanks :) I'm very on the fence about it so I don't know whether or not I'll bother with jersey gardens as well. My friend went to woodbury in the summer and there's a few things she bought which I'd like to attempt to get there, as they're a lot cheaper than paying full price in the city.
  • Anyone who is looking to go to see the christmas spectacular at radio city, there's a coupon code 'embogo' to get buy one get one free tickets. Bought ours last week with this code which I was emailed. There's also tickets on groupon today starting from $30 for anyone who is going before 27/11.

My wife and I may be going to New York in the spring. My wife really likes a perfume called Boyfriend by Kate Walsh (daft name - nice scent) that is sold in Sephora's. But someone has told us they saw it being removed from the shelves.

If anyone is following this thread while they are in New York at the moment and goes to Sephora's I would be be very pleased if you would let me know if it still seems to be available or not. The box is black. It is not the "Billionaire Boyfriend", just "Boyfriend".

Odd request, I know. Thank you.

Thank you. She has bought things like the roller ball on line but they are not allowed to ship the perfume - new regulations to do with flammable liquids. It cannot be shipped abroad commercially but you can put it in your pocket in the cabin!

Airport transfer, could someone confirm I have this right please.

Staying at Doubletree by Hilton Metropolitan on 569 Lexington Ave.

So I take the Airport train to Jamica Station then change here and take the 'E' Train to Lexington E 51st Street.

Just to check as I am a typical worry person, suitcases etc are easy to stow away etc whilst travelling on the train?

And the reverse for return I guess.

    As always many thanks

You've got the route correct. It is simple. You pay the AirTrain at Jamaica, so don't look for machines to pay when you board at the terminal. If there are 2 of you, and you're going you use the AirTrain on the way back too, then get a pay-per-ride card with $19.05 on it, and the bonus takes you up to $20.00 which is good for 4 rides.

Then, go down the escalator, and turn left, you'll see all the signs, down again, and buy your $31 weekly metro card. You'll need one each.

There is nowhere to stow suitcases on the subway, but they are spacious, and you're getting on near the beginning. I normally take a seat by the door, and put my case right in front of me. Don't put bags on seats. I've never had any issues.

On the way back, try the same! :D

Well, firstly, you won't find the same item in Manhattan because the Outlet Malls really do only sell things that are made for them. So, if you do see something similar in Manhattan at the same price, there is a very good possibility it is better quality. Don't be fooled by outlet malls.

Remember, you can get a 10% discount card in a number of stores at the visitor centre.

Much like London, I am a huge fan of Buses in NYC as well. You get to see things and they're at times, easier to get around, especially when wanting to go cross town.

Buses are all wheelchair accessible as far as I'm aware, though there are an increasing number of subway stations that are wheelchair accessible too. Marcy Ave in Brooklyn is, and that is only a short stroll back to Peter Lugers. (it's amazing what information my brain retains.

    Hi all,
In NYC at the min. Staying in tribeca right on the 123 lines and we are going to get back to JFK by the underground, do we need to get an additional ticket or can we just use our normal pass?
