We have just won the creme egg competion, for a trip to New york. nowhere did it say, how long the trip was for, and just found out it is for 7 days!! I am a little shocked, although of course over the moon. will there be enough to do for 7 days???
thanks0 -
Yes, there will, although if in doubt I am sure you could send someone else! :rotfl:
The thing is, you can take it slower than most of the rest of us do, which can only be a good thing ...
Congratulations!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks, all I had in my head was central park, Empire state, shops & liberty island. I guess I have alot to lean LOL0

We spent 13 days there (6 due to the volcanic ash disruption!) and I could still have spent more time wandering round, shopping, sightseeing etc.
You'll have an amazing time - just remember to take a large suitcase with plenty of space in it for all that shopping!“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

I never knew that you could get a bloomie's discount. I knew about Macy's but not Bloomingdales. How do you go about getting this then?
Go up to thevisitors centre in Bloomies, show your passport and they give you a card allowing you10% off your purchases. There are exceptions though to what you can use it on - fragrances, cosmetics and a certain few designers - they give youthe full list when you go up there0 -
I v alsojust come back from NYC - delayed a week because of the volcano. Just found some new info out about the statue of liberty i thought i would share. Back in 2000 when i first went to NYC, when you went to the Statue of Liberty everyone going to the island was able to go up the stairs all way up to the crown. When i went back in May 2008, you could only get up to her feet if you requested monument passes at the ticket window. Only so many were issued per day so you had to be quick to get them. The crown was closed due to 'Health & Safety issues' - i can see why that was the case though, the staircase up there was very steep and crowded. However on my return there this month, i found out they have reopened the crown, but you can only buy tickets on line http://www.statuecruises.com/ferry-service/welcome.aspx. They sell out pretty quick according to one of the employees i spoke to so make sure you buy them in advance. Definatley worth a visit up there!0

Just checked. JAcque Torres has a few shops in NYC now ..... not just at the Brooklyn/DUMBO shop. The other 3 are in Manhattan itself.

Has anyone used the site
http://bookit.com/ for hotels.
We are getting prices for Sept and these seem to be the cheapest for the hotel we're looking at.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0
