I think there is a google map pin thingy .I have seen it used here before . But grouping touristy and interesting things together makes the best of places to see as Jackieblack says. Plus get off Manhattan and go see more of New York & areas
I second that.
Stuff like liberty island, WTC, helicopter tour, all round the same area. It really is a case of getting the most out of your time and using it efficiently(even though you are on holiday!). FAO Schwartz, apple store, boathouse restaurant all near to each other but you will find it best to google map as Greenface advises.
I have a really embarrassing confession to make here. I always do a rough timetable (I know!!!) .0 -
Rough timetable isnt bad just reminds you of what there is around . Dont expect to keep to it. I always put down the LFC supporters bar down and never got to it yet. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Things 'at the bottom' (SoL/Ellis Island, WTC memorial etc)
Central Park and things in that area
and everything 'in the middle' (for want of a better description)
My advice would be to get a guidebook, make a list of the things you want to see and then use the map to see what things are near each other and group by area.
Thanks...I have a few guidebooks...will get on with grouping.....just thought someone may have some hints on which order to do things in the same area or how many sights it is realistic to see in one day....0 -
there is a couple of grouping way back on here i just havent got the will power to go back looking for them. But it mostly depends on what you like or think you will like. Lots of museams in NYC if you fancy them . what show would you like or seen before ? choices choices ... hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Jan and Feb are great times to go Hotel price wise. I'd start checking those rate in early September and watch them slowly drop.0

This next visit ( October) we want to see a show, so I wondered how is the best way to find out what is on ( is there a website that lists whats on and gives reivews or anything?) I have heard about the TKTS thing ( is it in or around Times square?) Do they ONLY sell tickets for the same days performance or do they do them for the next day too?
When and if you buy a ticket do they have a little map so that you can find that particular theatre?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Sign up to Playbill for emails before you go .......... My wife did it last year and got some really good deals .............. The theartres are easy to find as they are pretty much all in the same area .......... And they have big signs outside ! Google and Google maps are your friends.

Hoorah - Off to New York for 6 days in August and for the first time its a full family trip! Me, Mrs Fluff and the 2 little Fluffs (8 & 10)
so heres my question - when I was a little Fluff I was taken to a Baseball match (at boardwalk and bassball in Florida) and I loved it and I have always had a hankering to go again.
We are not big fans or anything but I remember it being very good fun and very american for a brit like me. I have done some research and rather than go to the a big game with the new york yankees that would break the bank and probably not really hit the spot I have seen that the Staten Island Yankees have miner league games whilst we are there - its nice and cheep, seems very family friendly and has a stunning view (google image the stadium and you will see what I mean). It also has the added bonus of an early evening trip on the ferry for at 7pm start and a 10pm finish which means different experiences on the ferry for us all!
so with all that going for it can I ask if anyone has done this and if so would they recommend?0
