I'm booking Delta from Dublin for £425 at start of September...(although I seen Continental for £419 but I needa just double check that)

Not sure on hotel - Been to the same hotel the last two times and tempted to go again as they are undergoing refurbishment and are scheduled to finish mid-August meaning new rooms AND all other rooms refurbished by start of September when I go ... but I emailed to enquire about the refurbishment so hopefully find out soon.

Had looked at the cheaper shared bathroom hotels but mum is a bit of a snob and will only stay in a hotel with our own room .... so will be a bit more costly but we'll be splitting the total cost of hotel anyway......

Going to be there over September 11th and the 10 year anniversary - heard they are opening the national 9.11 memorial (but not the underground music) on September 11th and to public of Sept. 12th...but passes have to be pre-booked as there is still somework going on down there and they are trying to manage the volume of people... I've subscribed to the newsletter so I know when passes become available.

Going to visit more of Brooklyn this time, though my mum isn't fussed (again she sticks to what she knows and doesn't like to explore outside what she has done already - argh).... but I'll have to come up with a list of things we want to do this time..

Mum's into her shopping and outlets so maybe woodbury common - though I'm not fussed on this, but I know she would be....

She's not into helicopters but I would love to do a Helicopter tour as I've been toying with the idea for a while and I really enjoyed the one I did in Florida...so I'll see... :D

Ooo excitement - can't wait to get this booked!

snowydough - simple solution. put mum on a bus to Woodbury Commons, and you head into Brooklyn for the day.

Thanks M4rkM. I will make an effort to hold off booking until a bit nearer the time. The price I was quoted was for each adult and there will be 3 of us. I really want a suite as there will be me, OH and adult daughter, so she could have a sofabed. I dont want to mess about looking for cheaper places then spending loads on transport so a central hotel would be best for us. I'm also aware that easter is beg April, so will keep closer to mid-end April.

Thanks Guys for all the info you have put on the forum over the last few years. came back from the states to visit our son who graduated in Ohio university and now staying on to do a masters. i collected all the information about New York and justy did it. Stayed at the Cosmo hotel for two nights for three people about $480, saw the place where the twin towers were, Got tickets from the booth near the ferry at half price for Stomp, Got the free ferry to Staten island, Eat at the Boat house in central park (a bit exspensive but you onley live once and saw a famous actor forgoten his name) over all thanks for the information. Plus i drove into New york from Ohio and Parked just down from the cosmo hotel ( i am mad or what) then drove upto Boston.

Go into your internet browsing history and cookies and delete them, some websites will dump a cookie on your system which will recognise that you've been on the site before so adjust your quote accordingly.

I've had Delta quotes go up by £100 and drop down again as soon as I cleared my browsing history.

Also, I've been meaning to say a big THANKYOU to M4RKM for recommending the Cosmo. Finally stayed there after 5 or 6 years of planning it then changing last minute to another hotel, very impressed with it. Ideal for what OH and I wanted from our trip, we liked the area just as much as staying in the LES, maybe even moreso because the subway is right on the doorstep and it has the same non-touristy feel.

Hi, A few people have said this to me - tried deleting my cookies and history and it hasn't work :(

I'm not sure whether to wait any longer? Or if there's another catch to it?

Also tried it on another computer at work (one of my friends laptops) and it was coming up the same more expensive than last night.

Any suggestions - wait or get in now before it gets more expensive?

I disagree with the cookies being deleted thing. It's never worked for me in 5 years, as Delta do NOT work like that.

The way Delta price their flights is on class codes, I've blathered on about this in a blog post a few weeks ago - http://m4rk.in/j0PvSJ - If you keep checking, a cheaper class code may appear, but if both flights are in class T, then it's the cheapest it'll be..

    Hi

I'm trying to book The London NYC for my husbands 40th birthday, we're going for 7 nights between 6 August and returning on 13 August, the best deal I can find is £1,613 which is with 12% cashback through Quidco and booking with Lastminute.com. Does anyone know if this is likely to be the best deal I get?

I'm kicking myself as last week when I looked the details with cashback was for £1500 I wish I'd booked it :(

    Thanks for your help
