    Hi guys,

Not long to wait for us now, going on Friday morning!

A bit of a strange question - any advice on the security checks? I know they are really strict. It is a long flight and the airconditioning on the plane never does me good so I usually take nose spray to clear my passages.. do you think I better not take it this time?

Sorry, might be a stupid question, but I've never been before and people say all sorts..

It's just a normal small nose spray (5 or 10ml?) - I am just worried it might delay us at the security checks.
People tell me just not take anything organic - such as food (leftovers like apple) or anything from the plane as it is not worth the hassle.

Not sure about any changes - I was planning on sticking within the clear bag and limits as I have known them before http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Publictransport/AirtravelintheUK/DG_078179

Do check weather reports and flights before you go too if you havent already and wrap up warm!

Nothing to do with any changes - just whether it will delay us at the security because of thorough checks!!!!!

Don't worry, my ski jaket, gloves & hat are already washed and ready.
And so are 60 denier tights for under my jeans if it gets really cold (which might on the trip to Statue of Liberty) :-))

Oh ok .. No idea sorry...lol

I would hope they will be doing thorough checks anyway and as long as any liquids are with the clear bags shouldn't make a difference?

I don't remember anyone checking what I had in mine in depth when I went. But did have to remove jumper belts and shoes etc

    Have a great time!

what security checks? they're as lax as they ever were, and it's not that long a flight. I split it into segments, 1st hour is take off, then we get fed, and we're into the 2nd hour, 3rd - 5th hours are movies, beer, and entertainment, the 6th hour is nap time, 7th hour is pizza in a box, and landing..

oh, only pizza in a box if you are flying delta, it's the best airline food in the world, and beats any other airline.. mmmmm . pizza in a box... nice.

Thank you. That is fine then.
I know of people who stopped flying to US because of the ridiculous security and they said they too old for this (but they were flying to Canada and other friend flies to Texas - no idea what the airport there is) so I just thought I will ask the question.

We are flying Delta. What do you mean by Pizza in the box? Literally? Also do we get just a drink or several?

BTW 7 hrs is not that short of a flight neither in my books
  • I've taken liquids that are in bottles / pots less than 100ml in a plastic bag through in the past and it was fine, i.e. lip balm, hand cream (essential!), bach remedy, nail varnish. I'm sure nasal spray will be fine if it's say vicks in the bottle. If you're at all unsure can you buy one in boots or something after you're through security checks?

Boots? I don't mean at the airport here, but on arrival there... .
    It doesn't matter.
