Sorry.....things keep occuring to me. Head still full of holiday but muddled by bad jet lag
......bedbugs have also been found in some clothing stores including Victorias Secret, Nike, Abercromie & Fitch. Bed bugs do not discriminate between clean or dirty places. So check before you buy (like under the collar) and perhaps keep purchases separate from your luggage until you are sure? They are destroyed after a wash in hot water.
I was told by a couple of people over there that due to a change in cleaning products normal levels of bedbugs are not being killed off and are therefore breeding since DDT was banned - but that was back in 1972!. It's thought that over time they've developed resistant to legal pesticides
They don't always bite - they can last upto a year without feeding - so it's not just a case of waking up in the morning and thinking 'I've not been bitten therefore I'm not carrying bed bugs'.....you need to check
And that's it. I promise not to go on about bugs anymore. I'm just aware that they can spoil someone's holiday and cost to get rid of, which is why I've banged on about it
Anyone got a cure for Jetlag?0 -

thanks
Almost certainly a con, do they want the deposit paying via Western Union?0 -

Have you checked this out on TA? Read the older questions first though. Personally I would not do it, its not worth losing money and possibly no roomLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -

Anyone got a cure for Jetlag?
Its been discussed to death over on TA, they have them in Canada and also Orlando. What I'd personally would like to see or hear from is people who have been affected by them and not just reportsLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Silly question - has anyone taken food abroad? I don't want to take a lot, just some snacks I really like that I can't get in US.0

I don't know the regs but am sure someone else can advise. We had to fill out a customs declaration on the plane and there was a point on that regarding foodstuffs. When we were at the luggage carousel at Newark there was a sniffer dog. One woman wasn't allowed her banana but another was allowed her wrapped Xmas pud0

Hi curlygirl, yes I believe you are not allowed to take fruit and veg which I wouldn't do.
Greenface, I am just really fussy about my food.
I love low fat crisps from M&S I know they probably do low fat chips there but I just feel good eating the ones I'm used to :-) I'm going for 5 days. I won't take loads just bits and pieces I like.0 -

Greenface, I am just really fussy about my food and do eat a bit weird due to a serious eating disorder I had last year.

I wouldnt worry, you can pretty much get everything in NYC. I think they have more healthier shops/delis that we do on our high streetLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I'll chuck in another food question whilst we're at it - my brother is heading out to LA to see an old friend of his and, to remind his mate of home, he's planning on taking some Yorkshire Tea.
Whilst I know the idea of taking Yorkshire Tea outside of God's own county is seen as sacrilege (much like taking a tin of Uncle Joe's Mintballs beyond Saddleworth Moor), are teabags likely to cause any bother with the fuzz over in the US?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
