Hi. I know these kind of questions are asked all the time but I was wondering about spending money. Me and my partbner are going to ny on the 25th november until the 29th. We have the City Pass so all the attractions are paid for, as well as a Broadway show. We should have around £800-£1000 to take with us and its equivalent in dollars. Will this be enough do you think? We are planning to visit one expensive (well for us lol) restaurant, the River Cafe, (just made reservations) and wondering if this would be posssible within our budget, whilst still enjoying ourselves and not having to worry about the money the whole time we are there? Thankyou.

We visited the River Cafe a couple of years ago and the bill came to approx £70 per head without any alcohol - it was very expensive and, at the risk of being a killjoy now you have booked it, we were not impressed overall with the food, bearing in mind the prices, BUT we may just have been unlucky. We found the Boathouse in Central Park much better for quality and food (although The River Cafe did do the most amazing chocolate dessert which was a chocolate model of the Brooklyn Bridge)

If you do go, after you have eaten it is well worth going and sitting outside on the terrace with a cocktail where you will have the most fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline just across the river with the Brooklyn Bridge overhead (the restaurant is just underneath the Bridge. If you time it right you will be able to watch as it all lights up - that was an amazing experience. Be careful though as they tried to charge us $25 each just for the privilege of sitting there. We had to point out that we had just spent a fortune in the restaurant before they reluctantly agreed not to charge us!

It is in a fantastic position which is really what you are paying for so hope you enjoy it.

ha we must have had the same crew on opposite shifts , on way out was larger older ladies one we referred to as matron ( i know we shouldnt lol ) and on way back it was mostly middle aged men who were lovely and friendly , i also found it quite a refreshing change .

sounds like it when did you fly?

i flew out on 6th oct and back 12th,also had a sky marshall on board going out.

it does make a change last time i flew virgin in march from miami to heathrow the FA's were all collected down the rear galley playing games on iphones or topping up perfume/make up and had very little interest in the passengers.if anyone went to get a drink you got a filthy look for disturbing them

    several options

you can get the air train and connect with path train in to manhattan.

taxi there is a set fee between airports and manhattan not sure what it is for EWR as i went JFK.

I also saw a bus that advertised cheap transfer options between EWR and manhattan but not sure on cost or name but someone on here must know or try a google search.

Do the NYAS do a service? We used them from JFK $15, they were very good
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

We are going 22 April, hotel I fancy opens 3rd April, would you risk booking it, they may just move us to one of their other hotels if not yet ready.
