Cat on heat

Lily has come into season today, and I've never experienced it myself as my cats at home were spayed as soon as we got them. Just wondering if there's anything I can do at all to maybe hep calm her down? Or is it literally just a case of letting it run its course? She'll be getting spayed once she's finished her time on heat because I don't want her to go through this again, its distressing for me to hear her howl so much.. but maybe that's just me being overprotective?

I don't know of any way to calm her down except maybe let her get jiggy with some tom.
Thats an irresponsible thing to suggest. Please do not let her mate with the local Tom. You just have to be patient with her and let her get on with it. Ensure you do not let her outside until her season has finished.0 -

Book it now, so as soon as she quietens down (never occurred to me that you would have to wait - why?), she can miss her breakfast, be scooped into her carrier and saved from the tyranny!
It's a miserable time for them, which gets worse over progressive seasons until it's almost constant. As soon as the anaesthetic wears off, it's like the sun coming out, they are so relaxed and happy.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Try !!!!!!!g. Get close and personal with your cat + one choice cotton bud. Cats are stimulated ovulators so "sstimulating" her will get her out of heat. Unsurprisingly many cat owners are very unwilling to do this!0

You can safely put me and Mel into that category
Anyway, Lily is an indoor cat and we won't be changing that, but we're going to contact the vets in the morning (she needs to go for microchipping and vaccinations as well).0 -
