If you say so.............:idea:0 -
Kwikbreaks - we will continue to use the tv with the set top box until it is replaced, just annoying as it defeats the object of having a tv with Freeview in, as we wanted to mount it on the wall, will need a shelf for the Freeveiw box underneath!
Debitcardmayhem - no need to use extra cable as the freeveiw box attached to the tv through a scart works perfectly.. It may also help the analogue signal if it has, and of course if it has then the settop has to be switched on.

So please explain to me why freeview boxes tend to work better with weak signals?
Also please explain to me why cheapie dvd players tend to be able to play more discs than high end ones:idea:0 -
Debitcardmayhem - Tried your suggestion, the DTV/Radio button won't function when accessed while watching Freeview???!!
The tv had been picked up now, waiting for advice from technical support from E-Buyer, will keep you posted.0 -

You may find that eBuyer will plug the TV in to their own good signal aerial and it will work just fine, if that happens, they will probably just return it you as having no fault.0 -
Hi MM.
We recently had signal problems with our freeview tv but somewhere in the settings there was an option which showed onscreen signal strength info etc. Ours was showing a weak signal so we literally moved the arial slightly until the signal went from maybe 40% up to around 80+%. (combined with moving 15 years of c**p inside the loft which was directly in line with the arial) When the arial was originally installed we had to 'best guess' its position based on picture quality ~ not an exact science ! We stopped other pixelating probs by using a better quality RF lead and not a home made version.
The arial is a proper external type just installed indoors as we were hit by lightning a couple of years ago and it took out our tv, video, cable box & stereo all in one go. (on a bank holiday too, I had to talk to the wife for entertainment)
Just as a warning to anyone thinking of buying a freeview style tv instead of using a seperate freeview box (to free up a plug-have less wires on show etc) you can't record to video/DVD as the signal goes one way only. i.e. you need the freeview bit before the telly not built into it)
Good luck with the next one, Jac.Same !!!!!! ~ Different Day :silenced:0 -
