I can't see any problems with freeview with this tv or at least nothing being reported.

Did you purchase it from eBuyer, if so I would give them a ring and describe the problem.
  • Fiddiwebb - Yes we did, I will give them a call tomorrow. Thank you for your help.

Last thought, you are not using an aerial booster as well?

If you are try it without the booster.
  • Nope, no aerial booster.

Sorry I can't help anymore, sounds like a problem with the freeview tv then.

Would be interested to know what the problem is when you find out.

Are you in a freeview area only or can you still get analogue. Is the picture ok on analogue, obviously if you are a switched over area ignore my idea.
If you press the DTV/Radio button and then the list it will tell you which channels you have tuned in Freeview try one of the Radio channels say 701 and listen to find out if you get a good radio signal.
The TV button then puts you back to Analogue mode

Does the freeview box have an inbuilt booster? The TV doesn't hence the poor picture

It sounds to me like the Freeview Tuner within the TV is faulty, can you try it on another TV aerial?
  • Debitcardmayhem - We are still analogue in this area, not due to switch over until 2011. I will try your suggestions, thank you.

Davester - Not sure if the set top box has a booster in, how would I find that out?

Inactive - I spoke to E-Buyer this morning who also said it sounds like a fault with the TV and are coming to pick it up, but if I can fix it in the mean time (if not a tv fault), it would save a lot of hassle with returns and waiting for a replacement.

Just switch it over to analogue, if it works then it can only be a fault with the Freeview tuner.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
